Feedback extortion - Demanding any action of a fellow user that he or she is not required to do, at the threat of leaving negative feedback. ( "Even though it didn't reach reserve, sell it to me for my bid or..."; "Pay me $100.00 or I will..."; "Sell me all of the Dutch items or I will get all of my friends to..." )

Rampaged --as a seller--I'd smile and let things all work out. And after the transaction is done and feedback exchanged send them this email--Never Never bid on one of my auctions again!
What a jumpy buyer--sounds like they have had some bad buying experiences on eBay, and have their guard up. Or--they are just plain miserable and want to share the misery.

eBay doesn't seem to have a firm way of enforcing feedback extortion--there's a variance in their interpretation and response to how they handle it.
My guess is that they would view this as a dispute between bidder and seller and not get involved.
However, as a seller and bidder, you definitely don't want to play that line. You are saying you plan on using negative feedback to enforce your wishes.
My personal inclination would be to neg you in a heartbeat and report you to eBay for feedback extortion whether they did anything or not. Needless to say, you'd probably not get what you want either.
Why?
Because I do not take kindly to threats or implied threats of any kind. There's absolutely no reason to threaten anyone for any reason. If you make an adversarial relationship of your eBay transaction, you will probably be met with one. No seller who has reasonable boundaries will put up with you.
If you can't negotiate with civility what you want within eBay and seller terms and all options are exhausted you may want to leave negative feedback if you must. Do not leave negative feedback as a retaliation, manipulation, or mere venting. No one will believe you especially if the seller has a good rating and mostly positive feedback.

I want to thank everyone for their input to my question.
The above statement was in an email from a disgruntled customer. One politely worded email and everything was ok again.
I guess i'm doing ok with my customer service for in two years I have given out only 1 neutral for slow pay after NPB and several email messages. It took 29 days to get payment.
I've given out 18 negatives for deadbeats that truely deserved it.
In tern I have received 1 negative and 4 neutrals. I have 943 positive feedback of which 715 count, so it's apparent I have many happy repeat customers.
I don't take to giving out negative feedback lightly and do it only when it is deserved and as a last resort. I am happy with my feedback record.
I don't post here often, for I am not as well versed as most, but I read here daily and have gotten many great ideas from the many people that I consider regulars on the board.

Just what is the difference in feedback, or who leaves it? Why do some count, and others do not? I don't get it....
