I know on this board there are different views regarding spamcop. My two cents worth is that the e-garbage that has flooded my mail box has been substantially reduced since using this free service, which mades it well worth the price of admission!
Spammers coming from Earthlink have been the WORST offenders. I get at least 6-7 unsolicited spam emails every day from Earthlink people. It is a waste of time to block each and every sender because I will get the exact same spam message sent from another mailbox.
Yesterday I got the following email from Earthlink. (cut and pasted)
Hello,
The account responsible has been located, terminated and billed for
cleanup costs.
EarthLink does not condone and will not permit abusive behavior by its
users. Though no summary judgements will be made, all complaints we
receive will be actively investigated and action will be taken when and
where it is appropriate.
I have received similar emails from Spamcop! I am very happy to see emails like that! I report ALL spam emails to Spamcop. I'll do anything to cut down on the spam emails!

Good for you, "boots"! I would love to hang the spammers. I got two messages today from someone named "EbayAdmin1811". Really ticked me off to see that it was spam. Keep up the good work!

Indeed, Spamcop is the best thing since...chocolate pudding with whipped cream on top...
I use Mindspring, and never had a real problem, because their Spaminator was working well...Now that they acquired Earthlink, I am battling everyday with all the garbage. I report it ALL to SpamCop, and several Earthlink accounts have been closed down. I will start saving those notices about accounts having been closed...

Thanks cmbtboots for letting us know about spamcop. I never heard of it before and can't wait to go check it out.
