Hi, after doing considerable research, I think I want one of these cameras. Does anyone know if one or both would be good for taking extreme closeups of designer logos on jewelry clasps (for instance). I have yet to get a definiate answer. I have asked those auctioning these items. One offered me another make entirely. Does this mean the camera he was offering was NOT going to to it for me?? A very helpful ebayer had sent me so much info, that now I'm really confused. Do I really need all this, or do any of you have a good recommendation? Sorry to get into another digital camera thread........

Take a piece of jewelry to a store that sells the model you are thinking of buying and TRY IT! See if you can get the clarity and closeness you need.

The only digital camera that behaves and allow adjustments like a regular camera is the Sony mavica fd-91 or fd-95. Its allow close up to about an inch. You can see the image before, during and after recording in a TTL LCD view finder like a camcorder.
Never use a Toshiba M4 or M5 before, but if it come with a optical viewfinder, it is no good for close up.
