Found a seller who accepts PayPal - they are from the Netherlands.
Is that possible?

Only if he has a US account.
For example, lots of Canadians do.

Hi,
We have not gone international yet and I would urge that you all do not engage in transactions with international sellers/buyers until we have released the product (around Halloween).

Damon are you playing with us international folk again or can we expect Paypal to move to international on Halloween?

Damon
I signed up with PayPal about 6 months ago. Before I did I emailed PayPal and explained that I would be running my auctions from Canada. I also explained that I had an American address and bank accounts (long before PayPal existed). I was told that I qualify and I signed up.
I am verified.
I upgraded my account last week.
I have 3900+ positive and 1 negative feedback.
Please explain why you are urging that buyers "do not engage in transactions" with me.

Hi jack99,
I am not inferring that you are a dishonest individual by any stretch of the imagination and you qualified by meeting the criteria below (address, etc)
However, international has not been released and we do not have the verification mechanisms in place to reduce fraud or verify a person's identity until the actual product launches.

Paydamon----Jack said he was verified.
To open a US bank account in the US--Canadian have to jump through all sorts of hoops--show ID, credit check, and a few more fancy things that the bank does just for the fun it---we are probably more verified than some US citizens with bank accounts.

HI Zazzie,
Thanks.
I understood what they stated, but I also pointed out that we are not international at this time.

PayPal doesn't even have reliable verification mechanisms in place to reduce fraud or verify a person's identity in the US yet. It seems that this would be a priority for a company that handles other people's money.

Hi abingdoncomputers,
The user stated that they have a US address and a US bank account.

And this affects the validity of my previous post in what way? We all know that the "verification" scheme used by PayPal is a smokescreen, with no real effectiveness as far as the stated purpose is concerned.
