After 12 months of trading, the free listing period for eBay Australia
will be ending on 19th October 2000.
We hope you have enjoyed this opportunity to trial selling on eBay with
listing fees waived. You are one of thousands of members who are
successfully buying and selling on eBay. Your trading has contributed to
eBay becoming Australia's leading online marketplace and is without
doubt the place where buyers and sellers experience the most success.
Experience from other eBay sites (such as the UK and Germany) has shown
that listing fees substantially increase the success rate for sellers!
This was largely the result of sellers being more selective in the items
they chose to list. This also makes it easier for buyers to find the
items they are looking for. There are still no fees for buyers.
Currently any successful sale is subject to a final value fee. This will
not change.
Effective from October 20th, a listing fee will be charged to your eBay
seller's account when you list an item. The seller's fee amount is
determined by two things:
·<TAB>the type of listing and
·<TAB>the minimum bid price or reserve price that you select for your
item.

That is pretty funny! The international sites always have lots of funny stuff! I remember they ended free listings for the UK site on US Independence Day! That was my fave!
