Hi. I've sold just a few small things on Ebay before, always just the right size to send at the $3.20 priority mail rate. Well I have some old clothes, mainly just a bunch of t-shirts that I want to try my luck in selling. What is the best way to ship the clothes so I don't make the buyer pay too much for shipping and it won't inconveinence me a whole lot either? Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of spare boxes lying around so I'm probably stuck to what the post office has to offer.
Any replies are appreciated. I look forward to hearing what advice you can provide me with. Thanks in advance!

I too sell only clothing and much of it is under the 2lb Priority Mail shipping rate of $3.20. But, the Postal Service is just great. You can get all the Priority Mail boxes you need for FREE!!! They have all kinds of sizes too. Just call their 800 number.....1-800.610.8734 or you can go online to USPS.com Hope this helps.

Well depending and the size and how many articles you are shipping I would reccomend priority because the boxes are free. Priority is 3.20 up to 2 lbs, so unless it is more then that that is the best way, I think, to go.

Josherz,
When I sell clothing I ship Priority. It is very rare that parcel post is any cheaper the difference is usually a nickel and then I have to hassle to find a box to ship in. So my advice is as the rest have said go with priority shipping. I always wrap the clothing in a plastic ziploc-type bags (I get the 13x18x2 mil size) and then place in priority box if they are light items. If they are heavy ie jeans, jackets, etc... I then use the Tyvek priority bags instead of the boxes as macandjan has suggested.
One note of caution, no matter how tempting it is, DO NOT place a fragrant dryer sheet or such sachet to "freshen" the clothing. Many of your buyers may be allergic or simply sensitive to strong smells and trust me, the smell multiplies the longer it stays sealed up in the package.
Aaah, which reminds me of the second note of caution, if you smoke or live with a smoker, try to keep the clothing smoke-free in a sealed off room or garage, porch etc... this is another issue that many buyers are very touchy about. It is a major turn-off to open the clothes you have been looking forward to receiving only to be assaulted by the stagnant smell of sealed in smokey clothes.
Best wishes,
Shari

I sold some used children's clothing quite a while back, and offered First Class Mail shipping for around $2 dollars OR Priority Mail shipping for $3.20. These were light weight items, which weighted under 13 oz all packed up. ALL of my buyer chose to have their purchases sent to them via First Class Mail.
If your T-Shirts are also this light weight, I would suggest offering First Class Mail, if you can find free shipping materials. If you have to spending on shipping boxes, envelopes or packing material, it might be easier to use Priority Mail and their free boxes.
Also as an added note, when I receive mail order clothing, they are usually not in a box at all, but a bubble mailer.
