Mama always said, "if you don't know, ask."
I need to know: if there is a forum, board, or somewhere you can say- "I have up for auction (such and such an item)." I can't find any place where it states on AW about that; but at the same time, I can imagine if 10,000 folks said, "by the way, check out my item #_____currently up for auction on______."
I have never auctioned anything before that I'd really like to let folks know about, so I don't know 'where to go' ( ...oh, please, if you can tell me...be kind!)
Thanks for letting me feed off all your experience and knowledge!!!

mizscarlett - if your item is truly unique and special, you could post in relevent newsgroups that it is on the auction block and provide a link.

You could try news groups yahoo classifides and so on but for the most part you will get more spam back then interest in your item .
I advertize on these free news group and classifides for my website and my auctions for everyone person it gets to vist I get 5 days of 500 to 600 spam replys so be sure to use one of them free webbased email addresses to submit your add with.
If it really special and it will be starting at a high bid and you feel it will sell featureing might get you far more results.
since your listed locally on ebay you could try putting ads on local public bulletin board in your area with your Ebay URL for the auction you will be suprised at the responce you can get with this.

PeaceList is a set of 24 specialized mailing lists that allow promotion of auction items. You just go to their web page to signup. From then on you can mail to the list and all registered users will recieve your email.
The caviat is... you will receive everyone elses emails. I find it to be a fun group usually and the number of emails is not extreme. It's also a great place to ask for help identifying items, repair how-to's and the like.

There is indeed a message board that permits this. It even has a once-a-week "show and tell" thread. I believe it's against CGs to publish the URL here, but if you want to email me at [email protected], I'll be happy to share.
