Grrr..... I just relisted an item that I sold on September 9th for $86.00 and never rec'd payment for, the item closes for the second time this weekend and NOW I get an email from the original high bidder that he's mailing payment tomorrow. Currently the item is at $49.95 and I don't expect it to sell for as much as the original $86.00 high bid so I am torn, do I delete the one bid I currently have on the item and sell to this guy who is supposedly sending $$ tomorrow or do I tell him that I've already relisted the item? It would be nice to get that much money for the item but I am also REAL leery at this point. I mean, it's been several weeks and my auctions say "payment due in 10 days".... heck, I held it for over a month waiting on him before I relisted! SHEESH, I swear I get all the bozos on ebay bidding on my stuff. What would you all do??

Tell him you have relisted and he is welcome to bid---5 weeks is a bit too long for him to expect you to have waited.

It is the consequense of his tardiness.

What happens if you cancel the auction and then never receive his payment? If he hasn't paid since 9/9 then I wouldn't be counting on receiving that payment. I would tell him it's been relisted and not to send payment.

I agree, tell him sorry but it has been relisted.

Thanks! I did email him and tell him that the item has been relisted, that I held it for a month waiting for his payment and after 5 weeks I figured I wouldn't be getting payment! Hopefully he reads my email before he mails that payment!

if he doesn't, just mail the thing back to him. (For my amusement, I'd make a scan of the envelope to note the postmark - which I'll bet is going to be muuuuch later than "tomorrow", just in case he decides to make noise later on.)

You're not the only one who gets all the bozos. That's why this board is successful! Hehehe. I agree with the others, if he still wants the thing he can certainly bid on it again. Even if it goes for less money, that is still money in your pocket (assuming he pays this time). A bid for $86 doesn't mean anything if you never get paid. I know, I would be frustrated too. Good luck, I hope it goes higher and he has to pay more! LOL.

BIDDERS LIKE THIS ARE TROUBLE!! I WOULD TELL HIM THAT THE AUCTION IS VOID. AND UNLESS YOU REALY NEED HIS BID I WOULD TELL HIM THAT I WOULD NOT ACCEPT BIDS FORM HIM ANY MORE.

I have really not ever had anybody send payment after that length of time. They will promise it's coming but that is not likely. Personally, I would tell him he is NOT welcome to bid on the auction again.
