Beginning November 21, 2000, in addition to what is not permitted per our current Adult Only policy or on the core site, the following will also no longer be permitted within a listing:

...

Used underwear - including but not limited to, boxer shorts, panties, briefs, athletic supporters.

--------

No more used pantie threads. It's gonna be a long winter.

I think the auctions just slightly violate health codes.

It took ebay this long to figure that out?

I always thought that eBay objected to such things as soilded underwear. Seems that for the last year, eBay hasn't cared about it. Now they are.

Does this mean I can't sell any more vintage girdles, bras, or corsets?

They are certainly "used"---although most of mine were last "used" over 30 years ago.

If so, my regular customers are going to be very disappointed!

I'll have to hope for a grandfather clause (pun intended).

Seems like more than a coincidence that eBay has finally decided to do something about used underwear about the same time that eBay Disney rolled out.

Oh no, no more panty threads, that ain't the worst of it. Just think no more used panties for sale... and Ebay will have to raise our fees to compensate for all the lost income from the final value fees and listing fees for the panty ads. Those panties brought in big bucks for sellers and ebay, i wonder how much income ebay is going to lose?

in memory of all the past panty threads, i suggest we have a final blowout panty thread right NOW!

Here;s my panty rant:

Ebay's new rule suppresses commerce, I'm all for it being sold in the right area and being viewed by people who want to see the ads, but don't ban 'em! Does the new rule mean I can't sell vintage Vanity Fair lingerie including panties from the 50's and 60's, that's legit vintage clothing. What about vintage silk tap pants (underwear) from the 1930's? Or an Yves St Laurent bra from the 70's? If so i will be quite p*ssed.

for old times sake let's hear your panty rant.

on the other hand this could mean a big increase in the number of personal web pages and web sites set up to sell panties for those people who won't be able to list them on ebay anymore, unless...

which other auction site could they be listed on? i need to know alternatives

There will certainly be a long moment of silence from me. I can't buy her panties now or read her posts on AW. What a mean cold world. A long sad "howl" at the moon.

Hmmm .. interesting speculation above about the timing in terms of Disney coming on board! Ooops...arriving on board!

Disney is notorious for their adamant policy of not associating themselves with 'anything' even 'remotely' pornographic!

Sure, and this is the same company who puts Sexual References whenever possable, yet hidden in their films (See that SEX word in the Lion King?) AND is accused of ripping off several Foreign Cartoon Ideas (Kimba the White Lion (Japanese Anime Film from the 1960's) vs. Simba from The Lion King almost parrells each other in some cases).

The Mouse needs to meet the Pussy Cat.

Does the new rule mean I can't sell vintage Vanity Fair lingerie including panties from the 50's and 60's

I am sure the new rule is just meant for the "used" USED underwear that rather perverted people kept listing in the adult sections. Then again, there was always a rule that clothing had to be laundered so I am not sure what the new rule would be exactly. As for Disney, they don't generally care what they are involved in, as long as it is not in the Disney name. Some pretty trashy stuff has come from other "disney" companies.

I am attempting to post a new ad through Auction Watch on Ebay. I get through the first screen, write my ad, attach my pictures, and press continue. After I press continue, I repeatedly, and I mean repeatedly receive a blank screen with "U!" on it with no further instructions. I have posted 100s of ads so I'm not new to the game. Is this happening to anyone else? Is it Auction Watch or Ebay? I need to get this ad posted before I catch a plane and I'm FRUSTRATED as can be.

Hey, let's not bring ABC, Mirimax, or those other companies into the fray. Plus, they have caused many #*!@ ups, including cancelling "Clerks" and dumping "Dogma" for another comapny (and yes, I am a Kevin Smith Fan).
