There have been no announcements at all from eBay today that I can find, yet the service has been spotty all day. What's the deal, am I missing something?

Yes you are missing something...
What you and the rest of us are paying for! Service! <grumble><grumble><grumble><grumble>
Sorry guys, but has there been ONE day this week that Ebay wasn't down? Or for that matter, has there been even ONE day that Ebay wasn't down since they began the stoooopid letters to remind people that they have an item on the oh so popular "Watch Feature"? What a waste of resources...Grrrrr....

Now, now Meya, you know that that is the way it "works" with eBay.
They have NEVER made timely announcements or been honest about the extent of the problems. they just keep quiet about it as long as they can and then spoon a bunch of hooey up on the announcement board.
One thing that has surprised me today: ususlly after one of these "non-outages" they remove all reference to it from the announcement board and post a bunch of messages about "improvements" that they are rolling out - you know, like "Computer-impaired Seniors United to Save the Dingo"
(Not that I am at ALL biased against SENIORS or DINGOS...)

But you can get to the Disney site and bid to your hearts content.......Just can't get to any of the user's auction(the one's that built eBay) to bid.

Ebay never goes out or has any problems. It must be your computer or a routing problem on the internet.....At least thats what they always tell me.

Maybe its time to develop a 14 day auction. With 10 I thought I could do better, and last week was phenominal. But this week, different story.
No. It is NOT functioning. No. I am not surprsied.

If they don't announce it, it never happened.

I think they wait until after the stock market closes for the day to report downtime.
Otherwise, it would worry investors.

(Thinking of putting in my decriptions
"If you wonder why I always run 10 day auctions, it is in the forlorn hope that you will actually get to see it for 7 days. If you wonder why they all end in the morning, it is because I hope you will be able to get to it to bid on it."
BTW if there is one thing that really p!sses me off, it's the never updated search list pages .. they always show no bids, but when you go to any auction it's got many bids!
Makes it look like no one bids on ebay auctions, when in fact sometimes bidders are actually able to connect and get a bid in!

and if you can't get to the announcement board to see there is no announcement, it didn't happen either.

I can see it on the Announcement Board now:
We did not update the Announcement Board during our outage because it would have cut into our downtime and the outage would have lasted another 1/2 hour to update the Announcement Board. We did you a favor!

I just tried every way I know to access all my auctions. I can't. And I listed some choice items earlier today. And in half-hour most would have had bids. But that was last week.
It's that blasted "REFRESH AND IT MAY BE YOUR ISP" that really ticks me. So on East Coast, it is NOT functional. If I could get to the site map, I'd cancel them all. Service? They don't need us anymore, why bother.

millicent_roberts-just thought of something, when there was another outage awhile ago,
someone said to go to ebay UK and I think? put in your sellers ID in that search, and it'll work.... I bookmarked mine, course don't have anything up right now, but it comes up faster than anything.
So I wonder if you were really going to cancel them all, you can do it in ebay UK?
