Has anyone caught the fact that ebay has increased the commission fees on sold items? What does everyone think about this?

This is about the 3rd time this was brought up. Show me where they increased, they have reworded the fee structure, but the prices come out to be the same...Where are you looking to see an increase?

OK - for items that sell for $25 or less, there is no change.
But for items that sell for $25.01 to $1000, ebay is now taking 5% of the first $25 and then 2.5% of the amount above $25 (it used to be that they just take a flat 2.5%. Period.)
For items taht sell for $1000.01 or more, ebay is now taking $26.25 PLUS 1.25% of the final sale price over $1000 (it used to be that they just took a flat 1.25%).
Any way that you look at it, under any possible scenario, they are now taking more.
Am I wrong here?

The fees you quote are exactly what they have been since April 1998 (when I started selling)..could have been even earlier than that but I don't know for sure.
Go into your myebay and pull up your account for 6 months ago..check out the fees you were charged...the fees will be the same as the "new" fees.

You are wrong. There has always been a fee for $25 or less, it is and has been 5%. $25-$1000, they take the initial 5% of uo to the $25, and than 2.5% for the remainder. Over $1000, they take the initial 5% of the $25, 2.5% up to the $1000 (which all totaled is the $26.25, hence the rewording part), and anything over that $1000 gets the 1.5%.
There was never a flat fee, been selling for over 3 years and its always been the same.

Yes.
To my knowledge, ebay never charged just 2.5% if your FV went above $25. It has always had a sliding scale of 5% on the first $25 & 2.5% on the amount above that up to $1000, whereupon any amount over $1000.01 is calculated at 1.25%.

It just sounds like they are more clearly stating how the fee scale works. I always thought that for items over $25.00 but under the $100.00 that ebay was only charging 2.5 % on the entire amount. I always wondered why ebay was being so "nice" with the fees. Now I understand.
