Hi everyone--
We have a very exciting change that will happen Thursday, October 19, 2000. This change will simplify the create auction process and make it easier and faster to create auctions using your Auction Manager control panel. The changes to the create auctions pages should go live on the site in the morning.
Please feel free to familiarize yourself with these changes clicking on the following URL:
http://www.auctionwatch.com/promo/acpv2/index.html
We look appreciate your business and look forward to making your auction experience easier and faster!

UGGGG more changes!
Many people have critized ebay with starting new bells and whistles rather than making sure the site works first.
It seems like that is what is happening here.
I still have problems wiith creating auctions; problems that I see posted over and over again on these boards.
Now a new form will be introduced that FORCES us to use the post auction management tools. More bells and whistles.
Why can't we choose if we want the tool set up first? I like the way I run my auctions, I use a date base program, and I have no desire to use this function.

oooooohhhhhh It would be so nice to get automatic emails......<sigh> I guess I can keep my fingers crossed. In the following months expect things to get much worse than they are right now. Ebay is spread much to thin to handle the holiday traffic. Best of luck to everybody.
pnth IS my real name on ebay.

You'd think that after watching Microsoft make this same mistake all these years, anyone who's in charge of technology would know better!

Looks much more efficient than the current form that takes two pages. A couple of questions, though. Will AW be updating to accomodate Ebay's new feature which allows listing in two categories, and when will the PSM options be added to AM Pro??? I can't very well send out auto WBN's as I'm currently using the system, given that shipping on all items is not the same, and I upload my listings from AM Pro.
Nevermind--posted this same ???? over on the AM Pro board. Please answer there.

I have meant to write this letter for a week to tell you that since I signed up with AuctionWatch about a month ago or so, I have had nothing but the best time here! You have simplified my auction life tremendously. It would appear that you people not only know what you're doing, but you do it well, and you do it consistently!
Last week there was a problem with the auction launches due to Ebay performing an unannounced form change, and I thought it was going to take a couple of days to fix. You guys had the problem solved in a matter of a few hours!!
Your company could probably make even more money if you were to hire yourselves out as cross trainers for those dingbats at Ebay. They can't seem to keep things moving smoothly even when they get PAID!!
Well, hats off to all of the staff at Auction Watch. I am thoroughly impressed and look forward to your continued improvements. You have helped this seller make sense of the auction world.

cbarker: Will one *have* to use such bells & whistles as the automatic notices? I like the system I have in place now & have no desire to switch. Especially as it was stated on AW a while ago that such bells & whistles would eventually have fees attached to them.

Just don't throw away the old original system that you had showing up yesterday. ( not auction manager) I only list one auction at a time when I do list and I like it fine.

I just tried the new listing system. Mixed feelings. I did notice that when I previewed my listing, it said, "You have chosen ONE free picture to go with your listing." Uh Oh! Am I reading into this? It sounds like we are going to be charged if we add more than one picture. Doesn't Ebay have a hosting site now where the first two pictures are free? If we are going to have to pay for hosting services here, why not just go to Ebay. What's the dif? Also, I didn't click on any of the after auction services. So I don't see how I can be charged. I think some of the defaults could be set differently. Most sellers list for seven days. The default is at three days. The default for listing regionally could be set at not listing regionally. Like I say I think some defaults could be set to what the most sellers would choose. It would speed up the listing process. Just my thoughts! )

I just tried the new auction listing set up again. This time adding two pictures. It says for Windows to use your Control key to highlight multiple pictures. I had to use the Shift key. I don't see where you add a Gallery picture for 25 cents. Unless that is what the box is for under the thumbnail pictures. It doesn't say. My main worry is that line that appears, "you have selected ONE free picture to go with your listing." I added two pictures. So when is AW going to start nickel and dimeing us to death like PAYPAL and Ebay?

I have been using AW for about a month and have been totally happy until now. Now I see there is no way to select adding your item to the gallery. I ALWAYS use the gallery. Since you do not offer that option I guess I'll have to go back to the old way of doing things which is now a new way of doing things on the everchanging ebay. You can't win...as soon as you are happy and comfortable...EVERYTHING CHANGES!

To Pollyannas and others: The place to discuss your problems with auction watches new feature is :http://www.auctionwatch.com/mesg/list.html?num=15
This is where you will get direct answers for your problems and concerns especially the gallery issue which I understand is being worked on even as I post.

Hi everybody,
To address your concerns:
kellyb1 (and bunnicula),
The post-sale tools are completely optional - you do not have to use them if you don't want to!
pickersangel,
Got it!
kasue and pollyannas,
The messaging that indicates there will be a charge for more than two images will be removed as it only applies if you are using eBay's own image hosting partner. It does not apply for third-party image hosts such as AuctionWatch.com. Our image hosting is free, and you will not be charged by eBay for images stored on our servers!
To all,
Thank you for your feedback and comments. Most of the changes made to Auction Manager were based on user feedback, suggestions, and feature requests.
If there is a specific problem you are having, or if you have a feature request, please let us know!
Diana

Hi Diana,
I have been trying to use the new creating method, without the after auction items.
How do I go back to yesterday's way of creating an auction?
I can't get Billpoint to show up when
I preview an auction.
I think I have just spent two hours with this auction. I like to
write the text at the site, instead of using word perfect. I didn't have to keep going back and forth between two pages before as I made changes. Its a pain when it is slow-loading.
Where can I get to the old method, please? I don't want a fourth night without auctions!
Thank you.

Sometimes "old" is good! Or should we just get rid of all of the senior citizens?
We do live in a democratic state. Was there a vote taken by the AW members?
My god! Take a break!

I LOVED the way it worked before .. particularly being able to review without leaving the page! I do NOT like the new changes. Why fix what isn't broken. The ONLY thing I did not care for was that my 'set terms' had to be exactly the same for every auction. I worked around it though because I found everything else so user friendly and had not a single complaint!
BTW .. thanks bunches for adding a $35 reserve to the two NO RESERVE auctions I launched tonight! Caught it on one of them because that was the opening bid and I got an error message that 'reserve had to be higher than opening bid!'
Just threw $4 down the drain on a $15 item cause somehow between the time I created the auction and the time I launched it .. the reserve mysteriously appeared! Ended the damn thing .. and listing fees are non-refundable! Good thing I didn't have more than 2 going up!
NOT happy here!

I'm on webtv & CANNOT list a catagory. I intended to list 10 auctions tonight & because of this I couldn't list even one.
How about an explanation of how to use the catagory section. I could only get "everything else" & thats all, how do I find the items in that catagory ? Also do we have the option of using the old system because I would love to go back to it.

the new changes are terrible. I liked being able to refresh/preview on my same page as I made changes. Now you have to wait an eternity when you click on preview as it goes to another page. Besides that, numerous other bugs and errors. I want the old method back too!

And ANOTHER thing (or two) .. I couldn't preview anything .. came up as blank page or with error message.
To list my item now (the one I cancelled) I am suddenly realizing it will go through only as a relist .. so add another $1 to the fees! Geesh!

Put me down for a vote for the old way!!!!
I want to know how it saves time having to
go to another page--usually with slow loading--to check changes & preview. This is
done more than once (for me many times) while
listing. You usually only go to the price, payment, category pages once!!
Who ask for these changes?

I had auctions scheduled to go off tonight. I decided to postpone three of them for Saturday night. I went in and did the rescheduling and they still went off tonight. I don't know what this could have to do with the new changes, but it happened.

It's not just the slow loading & time wasting extra click to get to the preview page.
I also keep getting "Seller Pays Shipping" as the default on auctions I already had loaded & ready to go AND the Billpoint option is not working?
If this is new & improved, please give me the option of the old listing pages.
