I've not had anyone use or want to use BidPay up to now. I'm kind of surprised since the item is only $9.99, so between shipping and paying BidPay, he is almost doubling his cost.

Anyway, should I be concerned or is BidPay a good thing? Should I register or doesn't it matter as a seller?

I have had one buyer use BidPay, so I went ahead and registered--no big deal, plus now I list it as another payment option. The money order arrived extremely quickly! Don't worry about it--I actually prefer it to a payment service that accepts credit cards from International buyers, as there is really no risk of chargebacks or fraud. (I waited to ship until I had the money order in my hand since it was my first experience with them.)

Relax. BidPay is perfectly safe, the only thing that can possibly go wrong is if the USPS loses the money order that BidPay will send you. Offhand I don't know their policy, but I would imagine that they would issue a replacement MO.

I love it! They pay Western Union and Western Union pays you.

I figure I can "trust" Western Union long before I can a place like PayPal.

I don't have many people use it because of the cost however.

No worry, it is a great service. I have been paid about 30 times with them and have never registered.

Two big thumbs up for BidPay!
You receive notice of payment fast and a money order faster than a PayPal electronic deposit. A great service.

Thanks for all the great replies. I guess this brings up the next question, when you have received the confirmation emails from BidPay, do you ship right away or do you still wait for the MO to arrive? I have to go to the PO today, and could save myself a trip.

I always ship right away with Bidpay. I've received several payments from them. Always within 5 days. In fact, I have to ship another today. It worked out great. The bidder had maxed his limit in paypal, and asked what other otptions I took. He wanted to use his CC, and said if not, he'd get me a money order, but couldn't say when.

BidPay is great, you can ship with confidence once you receive the APPROVED email from them: do NOT mail on the original CONFIRMATION email only: you must get the SECOND email from BidPay to be assured that the buyer's credit card has cleared OK. FYI JAY

I got quite a few money orders from Bidpay and I shipped the very same day I got their notification. What a great service they have. It's fast and safe and guaranteed.

I wait until I receive the MO. I've received 4 or 5 MO's from BidPay and they've always arrived in a few days. I figure there's always a chance the email notices can be forged and I don't know how BidPay handles lost MOs. If they require some assistance from the buyer, I figure he'll be more cooperative if he doesn't have his winnings.
