I am getting very frustrated. This is the fourth night in a row ebay has been down for me. I understand there may be maintenance, etc. but this is getting old. I've had auctions close each night and who knows if the last minute bidders got in or not. uuuurrrgh. If there are problems they should just state it up front, be honest, it works.

Fact is, they can't. See or bid that is. I shut down everything I had that ends in the next 3 days. I refuse to give money to a sieve to make more money to abuse mine. That's a fact and you can take it to the bank.

They do not care about us sellers. Maybe if Wallstreet got wind, then they would care. Greed prevents them from buying the proper equipment and skills to keep us up and running. If Megs stock took a hit, then they might do something. Do you thinks she cares if you lose 50 bucks?!!!

I am a new user and I am not very happy with what has been going on. For the last 3 or 4 days I cant get into my site so how can any one else. I hope I am not going to be charged for these auctions since no one can see them to bid on them, I cant even get into put any thing else on, WHAT IS GOING ON??????????. I sent instant mail a notice tells me mail box is full and after three tries was told address is permanently of. I will look for some other vehicle in the next week.

Good Question. It sure doesn't seem as though eBay has anyone that knows.
While it's good to vent here so we all know what's going on, it's even better to email [email protected] with our frustrations. Also always take the time to request credits.
Maybe if they have to give enough back they'll see that investment in a reliable system might be a net savings.

EBAY THE INTERNET MONOPOLY
AND IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL OR DISCUSS
ANYTHING WITH MONOPOLIES
CHECK SOME OF THE PHONE CALLS RETURNED TO
SELLERS--THEY HAVE THE ARROGANCE OF A MOMOPOLY AND WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT

This might be a good time to talk about alternative venues?

Does anyone know the outage policy link off hand - I'm going to go over it with a fine tooth comb. I pay more in fee's to eBay than I spend on renting a booth at the flea market - they're never down!
I feel I'm due a little compensation here for the hassle and possible lost customers and if I can get it - this time I'm going for it!
4 days of this crap & now I'm sick of it!
I know I've paid for at least one eBay electric bill by now!
     - Now go get em !! -

surrrfurtom,
I've set up a system on my site, http://www.auctionbytes.com/bin/bizdirectory/biz-dir-index.pl where people can rate auction sites and services. Everytime a review is left, it sends an email to the reviewed company notifying that they have been rated on my site.
Serves a two-fold purpose. One is that there is an area where people can leave QUANTIFIABLE opinions of sites and services. Everyone who passes thru my site sees that a product or service has a 1-5 star rating and is being reviewed by knowledgeable users.
The second purpose it to let people know that there are alternatives to the standard fare. If people start to see that there are other sites (with higher user ratings) they might start to use them.
And isn't that what we all want anyway? Choices?

What's up with ebay? NOTHING!
I've got my eggs in more than one basket .. rarely list on ebay anymore. Seems like everytime I do, there's something majorly wrong!
Last time I listed, bidder couldn't access auction at end. Loaded two items on AW to launch tonight. Went through okay .. I just hope ebay is up 'at least' towards the end of the auctions (geez, talk about lowering my expectations!)
________
I have a memory like a steel trap .. unfortunately it's rusted shut!

Attached are my feelings and correspondence with eBay.(it is pretty much self
explanatory). eBay reformatted their system to shut out other Image Host Providers,
since they now offer their OWN Picture Service.
My Image Host never charged a dime no matter how many pictures I wanted to add to my listings. eBay decided to charge if you have more then two pictures. Multiply
this added fee by a few million times.....It's about MONEY
-----------------
My correspondence with eBay
I find that you are trying to FORCE people to use YOUR Image Hosting Service, by not allowing the previous providers to send my images to your site now (YOU are the
ones that reformatted your system, so your answer is totally unacceptable)!!
I have been unable to list anything for days now and as you must know it is costing me too much money for you to shut out other Image Hosting Services, therefore I can't
list unless I use YOUR Photo service
I have too many things stored on the other Images Hosting site to change over right now, and if this is how you want to
operate (by shutting out my current Image Host), I am not sure I want to continue on eBay

Where did you get this piece of information? I host my own pictures on my own website & they not only uploaded just fine but are coming up quite nicely.
