Hello to all.... and thanks for your opinions in advance
I have a good friend who wants to sell a piece of Cal Ripkin Jr. memorabilla on ebay.
In 1978, Cal played for the Bluefield (WV) Orioles in the Appalachian League ("A" minor league). My friend has the original score book from one of the games where Cal played. He states that it is in excellent shape, but it is not signed or anything.
Would anyone care to guess what it might be worth? Cal will probably be inducted into the Hall of Fame in a couple of years. I think they have to be retired for 5 years before being elegible. My advice would be to hold onto it until after he is in the Hall of Fame.

What do you mean by "the original scorebook"? A scorebook filled out by a fan at the game, or something different?

I would say that if it's THE official scorer's scorebook from this minor leaugue game, and it's signed properly, it's worth $100-200. If it's one filled in by a fan, $20-50. IMHO.

I would think only THE Official Scorer's Book would be worth anything.
Something filled out by a fan, unless very old, might only get some sentimental bids.

Sorry about that, I guess I should have been more clear. This is the Official scorer's book, all filled out, signed, sealed, and delivered.
My friend was the equipment manager for the Bluefield Orioles while in high school, in the early eightie's, so I'm sure he know's what he has. He is one of the world's biggest baseball fan's. He has followed Cal for all of his career.
I still believe he would be better off holding onto it until Ripkin makes the Hall of Fame. JMHO
Thanks to all for your reply's

My guess would be about $25. It's a pretty obscure item, even if it is the official scorer's book. It's quite rare I'm sure, but there is also very little demand for an item like that.
