I got a notice from eBay today that a bidder had retracted her bid within a few minutes of placing it. Here's a copy of her excuse:

Retracted $1,576.00

Explanation: I didn't put in decimal point on bid making it $1000 too much.

Actually it looks like she put in about $1566.00 more than she meant to.

I never get a break!

With a retraction of that size looks like you went from FAT Rich to flat out broke to me

dman3 Yep, especially since the item cost me less than a dollar and I've got a case of them. I thought I was up for retirement!

How'd you rate a "notice from ebay" for a bid retraction?

I had a retraction yesterday and they didn't send me an email like that. Course, it was for a significantly lower number than yours!

Fountainhouse I don't know but it was addressed to "Dear eBay Community Member" - so maybe I'm just special. I'm glad I got it though - if I'd seen the bid first I think I'd have died of shock.
