Ok, this decree that 'View Seller's Other Auctions' is unimportant and is therefore disabled during peak periods really burns me. So I just wrote a letter to eBay complaining about it. Let's all write to them instead of complaining about it between ourselves. Here's the url I used. If anyone has a better one, please feel free to post it.

(Hope this works....)

So much for that. Here it is again - feel free to cut and paste....

Disabling seller's auctions is a catastrophy for a buyer like myself. I use this feature constantly when I am looking for items - especially when checking the listings of favorite sellers who list quality items in the categories I usually search.

I tried to access several seller's listings tonight and couldn't get in. Who knows what they lost in sales.

I am a buyer not only for myself, but for others who are looking to add to collections or inventory etc., or for specialty giftware items. Disabling the seller's other auctions has basically put me out of business on eBay. I already do a lot of buying on other sites but still peruse the offerings on eBay and make occasional purchases. I'm not going to be wasting much time there with this roadblock in place, that's for sure.

Edited to add: I am not going to take time to send eBay any comment or suggestion about this. eBay has wasted enough of my time already. It's much easier for me to simply take my business elsewhere!

I just sent the following to ebay:

I just finished reading with interest the "Tech Letter" on the announcement board, as a long time seller on ebay I rely very heavily on the "seller search" button for my customers, I have developed a large following of loyal customers on ebay and I do a healthy amount of business, thank you for that, however without the "seller search" button my listings are suffering! The majority of my customers have my list bookmarked and when they can't pull it up I don't get bids. I am sure my situation is echoed by many other successful sellers on ebay and I for one would like to see a solution and see it fast, this is getting old. With your huge customer base you have a lot at stake not to mention your responsibility to your stockholders of which I also happen to be. Lets get this thing fixed, we need functionality on all levels

I'm sure I will get back a canned response promptly!

Oh, gee, thanks for giving the rest of us a hand with this.

I'm going to start adding this "workaround" to my listings;
http://cgi6.ebay.co.uk/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewListedItems&userid=wolfsheadhollow&sort=3&since=-1&page=1&rows=200
You will need to find out what yours is. This is the ebay UK (England)site and works like a dream when ebay USA is "intermittent" which is every 5 minutes anymore. My wife found this and I think it works by going to the UK site on ebay USA, then and search by seller. You may have to do this when ebay USA is working and pull the URL once you are there. Bookmark It. Don't add it to your template if you are using AM Pro. I tried it and it made my preview page HUGE and I had to scroll sideways (I hate when that happens). I will add it to my description later with an explanation that bidders can use this to get into our auctions if ebay USA is screwed up with a note that tells them to bookmark the UK site.

I'm with you. Just sent an email explaining why the Seller Search is important, and requesting they not shut it down.

They say all will be fixed in 7-10 days? Cool - I never thought I'd get a vacation at this time of year, but off I go. Maybe I'll check out Yahoo and Amazon again. I'll be back the first week in November. Can't really afford to make $0 for 10 days, but I certainly can't afford to pay for service that I don't get!

Would you like some cheese with that whine?

Has anybody checked their sales for multiple sales to the same buyer during the last few weeks??
I just went back through mine and found a huge drop in users winning multi auctions.
Check the last week and compare it to a month or two ago, you may be as surprised as I was.
I bet the cd and dvd people are taking a beating, particularly with users trying to save on shipping. Some may not bid at all.
I'm spending all future "down time" writing auctions for Yahoo and Amazon.

I sent a letter to the email link in the announcement board where they posted that blarney about seller search having minimal impact on bidding. And then I got irked thinking about all of the lost bids I will have from multiples and repeat customers and I emailed [email protected].
I have a little over 1100 feedback rating but over 1700 actual positive comments... proof that repeat buyers do in fact exist. And without being able to find their favorite sellers ebay might as well help themselves to an extra percentage of sales because we are in actuality losing an extra percentage.
You know, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that if you can't find the store you're looking for, you're going home empty-handed, and the shopkeeper, who can't be seen, waving his arms wildly from behind the cement wall, is going to have less sales. Duh!

I already have had my seller list bookmarked in ebay UK, but what good is it, if ebay U.S.A is down? I mean yeah I can look, but can U.S. bidders bid, when ebay has their usual huge outage?

I've always had a link in my auctions to my about me page which includes all my auctions. The link on the auction says to check out my auctions via this link. You can't rely on eBay for much of anything lately but to be a headache.
