I never had a package turn up missing. I don't know what has to be done. I could resend the item to the buyer or offer a refund & deal with the Post Office myself or should I send her the insurance paper? Or should I wait & see if it turns up? It was mailed Priority 27 days ago. I would like to respond back to her quickly but don't know what the proper way is.

If the item was insured, you should take the insurance receipt to your P.O. to start the paperwork. This has only happened to me twice, but in both cases, once I started the paperwork for a lost package, the package suddenly turned up.

Just like the bus never comes until you light up a cigarette
