Hi, I have a question regarding Billpoint. I have used it several times for both CC and E-check transactions, but this last transaction there is something weird about it.

My customer asks me for an invoice and I send them one. My customers forwarded me the confirmation they received through Billpoint saying they have paid with E-check, when I look at the details it shows:

Date Payment Initiated: 22-OCT-00
Date Payment Cleared: NOT CLEARED
Seller ID: valerie47
Seller Name: xxxxxxxx (BUYER'S NAME!)
Seller email: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (MY EMAIL)

I was confused as to why Billpoint would show my BUYER's name as "Seller Name". I emailed the buyer and they said they didn't know, and to just email them when the check clears.

Well today I get notice from Billpoint saying the check has been returned to the buyer's bank as unpaid and to contact the buyer so they can pay with a different payment method.

Shouldn't Billpoint notify the buyer? And does this whole thing look funny to anyone else or is it just me? Anyone else have anything like this happen to them?

What I'm confused about, Valerie, is why you asked the buyer to explain a Billpoint auto-generated email. Why aren't you asking Billpoint these questions?

Glenda:

The email I received stating THEIR name as the seller (they are the buyer) came from the buyer. The BUYER sent me that email that had their name shown as the seller, with my ID. I didn't get the email directly from Billpoint that had THEIR name as the seller.

The email I received from BILLPOINT was correct with my name as the seller. The email they forwarded me had different info in it.

Why aren't you asking Billpoint these questions?

If I don't get answers I *will* ask billpoint. I was simply asking if anyone else had this problem.

Valerie..I would suggest you contact billpoint and ask them. Asking here first isn't going to get you answers..just opinions and anecdotes.

When you do get answers from Billpoint, relating them here could help others, though, who are in the same or similar situation.

Valerie, I asked why you didn't ask Billpoint and you said:

"The BUYER sent me that email ..."

You're splitting hairs. The email was auto-generated by Billpoint and forwarded from the buyer to you:

"My customers forwarded me the confirmation they received through Billpoint ..."

I think you're a very intelligent person, Valerie, and because of that, it feels to me like sometimes you aren't really asking questions such as these to "learn the answer," but rather to start a discussion. I get the feeling that you know the answer - or have made up your mind what the answer is - to many of the questions that you ask here.

Glenda: I suppose I should have expected such an answer from you. If you don't have an answer, perhaps you should learn how to refrain from answering my posts, instead of trying to cut me down or try to make it look like you think you know why I posted here.

I asked a simple question. I asked if ANYONE ELSE has had this problem. I asked if anyone else thought this whole thing looked funny...as in "does this possibly look like a scam?" I am not aware of every scam out there. I was trying to see if anyone else has experienced this.

HOW do I know if someone else has had this problem unless I ASK?

Do you answer every other post with "why don't you just write to ebay?" or "Why don't you just write to Paypal?" ?

Seems to me you just have a problem with my posts... and in that case, I ask that you put me on ignore so we don't have to go through this with every post.

Everyone,
