I am really new to online auctions. After reviewing ebay and others I'm curious about where sellers get their products. (Other than home made items of course.) How do sellers new and refurbished items to sell? Are they actually retailers? Thanks.

I am a seller on Ebay, I have a retail license to operate my business from my home. I also have a state sales tax number (I had to post a hefty deposit with the state to get that) and I also have a business checking account. Most wholesalers require a combination of the above things before selling items to a person at a resellers price. Once you have all of that, do a search on any search engine for wholesale suppliers and sign up with the ones that have the products you want to deal in. Hope that answers your question.

There's lots of sources for new items other than wholesalers, but you can't expect a big supply. Thrift shops are one, some places have very cheap closeouts on new stuff that is either refurb or discontinued. You can carefully resell some of these things if the price is right. Lots of stuff on eBay goes cheap--you need to do your homework or you wind up taking a bath on it.
