I received a spam e-mail with this:

X-Authentication-Warning: mailserver:[192.168.0.254](may be forged) didn't use HELO protocol

I don't usually scroll to the bottom of an email but on this one I did. I didn't open it.

I don't know but I would delete it post haste, (unopened), clear out the cache and history, shut down and reboot.

Nothing to worry about. Spammers use forged headers in an attempt to conceal the originating IP address and an "authentication warning" just informs you of a header mismatch.

Time permitting, I locate the originating IP address and report them to abuse@[isp] and postmaster@[isp] for TOS violation and account closure.
