That's simply common knowledge... Imagine not even being able to go to the board to complain..! Just kidding, it's down again Friday night, with all those new features on the board, who actually has time to bid!!!
It's time has come to note the FTC complaint article on the front page of AW and file one against ebay.

Yeah the article pretty much says to expect longterm problems with eBay. I think they will change their policy, because charging sellers for services they are not receiving is real bad, and if this continues the media will jump at them big time.

Great article. I have wrote to Ebay this morning and essentially told them the same things. Guess what ? I have not had the courtesy of a reply (all I have received is the standard canned reply mail). For the first time (that I have seen) Amazon's auction site was down this morning. I copied the message from that site that describes their policy for outages. Seems reasonable (and very customer service oriented) to me. Maybe Ebay should take a lesson ???
We'll be right back!
We're sorry, but Amazon.com Auctions and zShops are closed temporarily. We expect to be back soon.
If you would like to be notified when we reopen, please leave your e-mail address below
and we will be happy to let you know.
Per our Site Availability Policy, if this closure lasts longer than 30 minutes, but less than or
equal to 2 hours, all auctions scheduled to end during the closure period will be extended
by at least twice the amount of the time closed. If the closure lasts longer than 2 hours,
all auctions scheduled to end during the closure period will be extended by 24 hours.

HI,Hope ebay reads that article!(BY THE WAY,THEY (cnet of course not ebay)ARE REQUESTING COMMENTS !! got any??hehe, click at the bottom of the CNET NEWS link of the ARTICLE. when i saw that 7-10 DAY problems deal i thought ok yahoo or amazon...then i went to amazon(if fact i pasted that same message sorry to be down message to another thread last night)used to sell there, they are super, respect their sellers you can tell just by that message, they even email you when they get back on-line.BUT,they have even removed their top button on home page for auctions??buried to the left..way down the page,,checked out books, glassware eek not much on bids..too bad
i was surprised awhile ago, never knew that ebay #1 for size, then Yahoo, then amazon.
so i do a little at yahoo, will try again cause if this is long term problems at ebay & we have all spent all year getting our items ready, building up customers etc..& now this!
the arrogance of not fessing up how bad it's been is what gets me,& not offering our fees refunded.
WE ARE LATE LISTING OUR CHRISTMAS STUFF NOW,couldn't get through to list on & off last 2 weeks.
I revised a book from non-fiction to totally weird last week,no hits,,so i revised category again..WELL WELL,5=7 days later, ebay is having problems & i go to my sellers list & instead of the title i see TOTALLY WEIRD NOT AVAILABLE?? does this mean the updates were A WEEK BEHIND!!& who knows what else.
one tip, if you list at yahoo, use their featured item on at least a few items,(.10 or more a day)many more hits, then if they hit sellers other auctions(especially popular if you will combine on shipping) you will get a lot more hits.
i gotta try it..
CHECK OUT THIS THREAD some very sharp people re: site stability & see what they say.
EBAY'S SOFTWARE HAS CHRONIC DISEASE

ps if you go to the article ON THE EBAY OUTAGE AT CNET
http://news.cnet.com/news/0-1007-200-3276880.html
PLEASE NOTE:at the bottom of the page is a link to make a comment to the news media about the outage we all need to do that.
i'm jumpin' ship over to yahoo cause I hate to think what could happen if they go down big Time,on say around Dec 15th & we can't get our bids or our info to even see who won to contact winners & ship in time for Christmas,What a mess, they should have offered us a refund on our fees(which wouldn't even touch what we've lost in bids, time, fees, future repeat customers etc...EBAY needs to GET A CLUE,WE'VE PAID THE FEES,YOU HAVEN'T HANDLED THIS WITH THE RESPECT WE DESERVE..PS.WE DIDN'T WANT ALL THE BELLS & WHISTLES THAT CAUSED THIS MESS IN "PRIME TIME",good luck everyone pam
