It all boils down to ebay keeping their other new stupid useless services running. Say their pic hosting and thumbnails on every page. Free now? Not for long buckaroos.

That is a prediction of mine from months ago. The image hosting is a draw and then there will be a fee. Then they will somehow penalize those who use other pic systems......oh wait!!!!!! They already are arent they. I dont recall being offered a thumbnail on the catagory pages.

Can you imagine the stress all those thumbnails are putting on an already facked up system?

I thought the thumbnails were just of the images in the gallery?

About those thumbnails...does anyone else have a problem loading a page full of them? It takes so long for me I just hit cancel and move on. I've given up trying to look at jewelry.

Folks this is getting ridiculous, It s high time we did something instead of just complaining bitchin and moaning. I think its time we consulted someone in regard to compensation for the losses we are taking. You try to move closes to less overloaded times in hope that maybe, just maybe you could have a few decent end of auction bids, and here their down tonight too!! I am not say credit for fee either, I honestly thing they could be held liable for damages. I know for a fact they have cost me money, do you??

I will admit to ignorance and assumptions. Ebay pic hosting came and then thumbnails came. I may be wrong. If they are just gallery pics they are still a big ol hairy monster on the catagory pages.

I still bet free ebay uploading will last as long as frost on a hot car. I'll also go so far as to bet that they will limit other pic hosting users to two pics within 6 months.

Kelly, I'm really pretty sure that the thumbnails on the category pages are just of the items in the Gallery. I seem to remember Imabrit commenting favorably when they made the change - sort of a freebie enhancement for paying the Gallery fee.

As to the 2 image limit: They already have a limit of 2 images in the adult section, but that has nothing to do with who's hosting them(it's because people were posting a lot of pictures that didn't have anything to do with the auction item, to get people to visit their websites). But I honestly don't think they'll try to put limits on the # of pictures just so people will use Ipix.

Thanks Glenda

Still, I'd like my prediction written here in the AW archives of stone. Ebay will begin to charge a "nominal" fee for the ease of using their pic service and they will somehow make it less desirable for sellers to use their own. (like limiting pics)

There are many things I thought ebay wouldnt do for a buck.
