I just came across an auction and in the TOS it mentioned that if the seller didn't receive payment within 10 days they would contact ebay to terminate their account!
Ouch!

Now there's a seller that I would be dying to work with!

Is there any way to contact that seller and say something to the effect that they are being extremely insensitive, to say the least?

They have 272 feedbacks, 9 negs and 18 neutrals. They also have left 12 negs.

That's the kind of TOS you want to make up a special account for. Just so you can bid on their item and call their bluff.

Wow, just checked out their terms again. They have a special link to their "official" policy which is ANOTHER whole page long! (I guess the policy on the auction isn't official???) And at the bottom of the LINKED page, it says:
"The policys listed here are firm and bidding on any of our auctions constitutes acceptance of those policies."
They also accept ONLY POSTAL money orders - no western union, etc! And cash & paypal. If wrong payment method is sent they will NOT send it back - it's the BUYER'S responsibility to deal with it!
Yikes, I wish you could all see this ad!!!!!

I just saw an auction where the seller said that he was busy and couldn't contact winning bidders after the auction closes. He gives them 5 days to contact HIM with payment and shipping information or he will cancel the transaction, file for NPB and FVF, and leave neutral feedback. He then says that retaliation by the bidder with neutral or negative feedback will be reported to SafeHarbor.

How did the auction venue turn the tables on customers to the point where the customer not only doesn't come first, they are barely tolerated and mistreated with regularity by sellers? I am truly trying to understand this phenomenon. I wish I had the courage to email every seller who was trying to make their life more convenient at the expense of mine. I'm seldom a buyer these days and for good reason. These people policies may be hurting all of us.

Welcome to the real world. The era of "The customer is always right" is coming to an end. Not because of the Sellers, but because of the customer, who use and abuse that maxim to screw scores of businesses.

Just curious, how can you find out how many negs someone else has left?

I use this:
http://vrane.com/ef.html
There is a place on that page that lets you enter in someone's ID and it gives you all their NEGS received and left..
