Okay I apologise to you all I started selling same items on Yahoo that are on ebaY and I have sold a few things over there in the last week.
The buy price is working and getting a little better prices than on ebaY too.
I have 3 items with bids plus I have sold 3 under the buy price.
So 6 out of about 36 with a few days to go is a start.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Don't be tellin' everyone or there will be a mad stampede from eBay to Yahoo. We don't want THAT, do we?

I'd love to know what you folks are listing on Yahoo that actually sells. I've checked the categories I sell in - various antique and vintage collectibles - and the ones I buy in, and the sales are pretty much zilch. Start prices are so high on the items I buy (also antique & vintage collectibles), IMO unrealistically high, there's no way I'm going to bid on them.

Joanne: A couple of weeks ago, I would have made the same remarks as you did - no bids at all. Then I look at the CLOSED auctions of a couple of Yahoo sellers who sell the same types of items I do and who list a lot of items. It told a different story.

Joanne ... Ditto to your post, and I've checked the CLOSED auctions as well.
As many others have said, it depends "what" you sell. My items rock on eBay, and suck slough water on Yahoo. Same goes for Amazon & Gold's. Total waste of my time.

I thought it was just me. I list things on Yahoo first and then to Ebay when they don't sell. Even when they do sell, I don't get the prices I get on Ebay. Also, I've had bad luck with Yahoo buyers not paying. I thought maybe it was how I was listing things on Yahoo, but since it's free it's worth a try.

Yahoo right now is very slow compared to what it was a year ago.
I was selling lots of things on yaHOO last year but since July sales are off I have 400 auction close monthly with no bids or just one $1 win in the month.
Move my stuff to ebay and they sell off no trouble at all and most with more then one bid.
Once again this morning I did my surffing on yahoo to find bidding in all catagories to be slow catagories with 25 pages of item only 5 to 10 of them with bids now its even in the computer and software catagories to.
I surffed in to individual booth to find sellers with 500 too 1000 items listed some had no bids other had 1 or 2 bids for $3 to $5 many of there items sitting there with one bid wins not bought.
Yahoo need buyer willing to part with there CC # to bid not a flood of sellers.
my sales are down on yahoo way down last year at this time I was getting $500 to $800 a month this month I had $4.80 in wins
this tells me sales at yahoo are down 99% over last year yahoo auction is nice and easy to list on and free but nothing to cheer about as far as sales go right now.
