I just bought about 1,000 late 1950's early 60's stamps at a church auction. How should I list them? They are from all over the world. I have a scanner of course - should I scan the by country and offer them in groups or? What kind of price should I start them at? I guess the bidders will bid them up if there are any valuable ones in the group - won't they? Or is there a good book I can check out at the library? Could I get some tips? Fran

Well you say you got 1000 stamps 50s and 60s

I would do what any stamp dealer might do
separate by country mix each country in lots of 25 or 50 and start each lot a $2 and up what ever you feel comfortable with I wouldnt hope for more then $6 per lot of 100 really

if you have small batches of mixed lots left over mix them all togeather and sell as a mixed lot.

Remember to add in your listing if the stamp are canceled if they been hinged or if they are still on envelopes.

I wouldnt worry about gradeing these stamps you can keep your eyes open for error stamps but it unlikely you will find them.
