I don't post alot of items during the day. If I do it's usually on Tuesdays. The EOA notices from ebay come almost instantly on Tuesdays during the day, but at night I sometimes won't get them until the next day! Is it because there is lower volume of auctions closing during the daylight hours you think?

I think it is b/c of the traffic. I had 2 auctions end one day, recieved payment- IN THE MAIL- and then received the eoa notice!
