Well, I did it...got caught up in the
PS2 hysteria and won an auction with someone
I thought was trustworthy. Problem is I am
a seller not a buyer, and jump to the conclusion everyone is honest like I am. What
happened was that after winning one for $ 530
+ 20 postage, I PayPalled the guy $ 570;
double postage by mistake. After emailing
him to send the extra 20 back, I have not
gotten and answer to 3 different emails in
24 hours. He has 19 positives with no negs,
but his is mainly a buyer and seems to be
into stuff like demonic looking knives and
wicca things (sounding better all the time
heh?) He is NOT a verified seller on PayPal,
that being my biggest mistake of this deal.
At this point, I feel for him to send a
PlayStation is a long shot. Any ideas?

Some people go for days, even weeks without checking their e-mail if they aren't expecting anything.

I'd give it a little longer than 24 hours.
If you're really concerned about it, pull the seller's contact info from eBay and give him a calm, friendly call.

Has the seller 'picked up' the money from PayPal? Check and see if your 'sent money' is 'pending'. If it is you could cancel it.

If you sent the money with a CC, and the person has not sent the item, you can chargeback.

Well, my seller came through around midnight
last night--seems he had to leave suddenly
on business--Palpalled the 20 back. I guess
you need a little patience in this business!

You e-mailed him thrice within a day??. I had one buyer who won an auction of mine & e-mailed me 3 times...once at 2.00 am, 4.45 am and 9.00 am. Of course since I am so puny that I needed sleep, I woke up & by the 3rd e-mail, he was questioning my ability as a seller & considered me to be one of the worst sellers on this solar system.

Medication is good not only for him but for society

Midnight finally arrived. The auction had ended. I was the winner. I clicked over to PayPal and zapped my payment, poured myself a cup of coffee, and checked my email. What ? No message from the seller yet ?

I waited. Ten minutes went by. I poured myself another cup of coffee and checked again. Still no email. I rose from my chair and paced to and fro, pondering my dilemna. Was I yet another victim gobbled up in cyberspace...

I managed to calm myself down. "Think positive" I told myself repeatedly. He probably already shipped it, and just hasn't had a chance to email me yet. I peered out the window to the street below. No mailman. No UPS. No Fedex. Now what? I poured myself another cup of coffee and emailed him again. This time I let him know that I am not some "newbie" that he can push around. I won the auction. I made my payment. I want my stuff.

It's nearly 1:00 now, and still no reply. Now I'm really beginning to get angry. My hands are trembling as I reach for the mouse. What should I do. Who should I call. The Police? The FBI? Ebay? I pour myself another cup of coffee.

I stared at the clock on the wall and watched the hands slowly make their way around the dial and thought of my money slipping farther and farther away, when I was ripped out of my daze by a noise outside. I leaped from my chair and raced to the window ripping back the curtains only to see a stray cat moving amongst the garbage bags left at the curb. No package, no mailman. My money might just as well be amongst the refuse at the curb. I somemnly made my way back to the desk, head hung low in defeat, and poured myself another cup of coffee.

I began repeating to myself "I won't get screwed again, I won't get screwed again" It's now nearing 2:00. Enough is enough. I checked my email one last time. Still no messages. That was all I could take. I clicked over to Ebay and left him a blaring neg and went to bed. I'll call the FBI in the morning.

Mr Jim, you left out the part where I took my
2nd Xannax, called my brother-in-law attorney, did a people search on Switchboard,
and called a quasi-friend whose last name
ends in a vowel...

I am glad to see that you have a sense of humor. (too many others take life too seriously)

My inspiration came from comic's post and not directed at you.

Thanks you guys for helping me understand the need to sit here and click the refresh button to be sure I don't miss any emails from my buyers.

You guys have to understand that I am almost
exclusively a seller (like most folks on here) and when I am buying I feel this total
loss of control! Add to that a fat amount
($570), a too hasty trigger finger, and after
receiving an email from the seller right
away asking for payment, I got total zip from
the guy for 32 hours, 12 minutes, and 42
seconds. Next person I deal with will have
over 5000 feedback with no negs.
