Maybe somebody can save me some time if they know how this works.
I know you must file npba and wait before requesting a fvf credit.
If I have someone who hasn't paid in over 20 days and am about to file npba and find he is naru'd, do I still have to file npba or can I just go ahead and request a credit?
Seems kinda useless for a "work out" period when the guy is NARU'd
Anyone else notice an increase in deadbeats lately? Spending 3-4 hours a week now on late notices, npba, fvf, etc. Been selling a year now and never had problems like this, getting tired of it!

Out of 15 auctions that ended 4 weeks ago, I've got NPBA into 4 of them for no payments. I've contacted other sellers that have had dealing with the people I've mentioned with the same answer. Deadbeats. Ebay still has to refund you on a NPB. I would do as you were and file it anyways.

Sounds like you are frustrated in the same way I am. I cut the amount of nonsense. I rarely send a reminder notice anymore. I just NPB Alert on 10 and run a FVF credit if the alert doesn't work 10 days later. There's no reason to play surrogate parent with adult bidders.
If more sellers would operate this way, the problems would subside.

I agree about babysitting adult bidders.. it's not in my job description!! My TOS state payment expected in 10 days; my initial contact email states it again and that NBPA will be filed if no payment, 10 days later, item to be relisted and appropriate feedback for non payment will be left. STILL get SO many sob stories and the occasional retaliatory negative feedback (which irritates me to no end) but if we all took time to coddle people who bid and never pay, we'd go broke. And YES have definately noticed a lot more deadbeats lately.. good luck!
Oops, and to address your first question, Yes, I do believe you have to file the NPBA, wait 10 days then file for Fees back. Otherwise you get the 'Whoops, our records indicate you never filed a NPBA on this deadbeat' page.
Edited to address initial thread q
