I am wondering what will happen on Thursday with all the problems that Ebay been having with the free listing day at auctionrover . . . ? I myself have over 300 hundred ready to go and I know many other also do. Should be rather taxing to ebay already unstable servers. I am wondering if Ebay can handle a free listing day right now. I guess we will see. . . Got to love this business one never know what will happen ; )

Ummmm....what free listing day?
Is this an eBay free listing day or an Auction Rover free listing day? I checked the announcements board and see nothing about it.

it is at auctionrover now called goto. 4 the people that post through them they give you the standard ebay listing fees back. I have done it a few times. First time I have so much up though. They was a post about 10 days ago here about it. Not many people here use them. I use both here and there. Depending what I am doing.

tracey - Congrats on getting 300 auctions scheduled! Myself, I've been slaving every free moment I've had over the past weeks to get about 100 ready to go.
Sounds like auctionrover/GoTo have offered this free listing day before... how frequently have they offered this ?

I went to the goto website and did not immediately find anything about a free listing day. Is the promotion for people with existing accounts only? Do they normally charge a fee for their service? thanks -

I set a goal last week for 200 items to list. I am at 255 now. My POOOOORRRRR fingers *L* I have them scattered throughout the day at least. I just almost dread the ending day. Can you imagine if even half sells?

YESSS!
Can you imagine how nice it would be to deposit all that money in the bank? Focus on that, not the packing and shipping!

OK, I registered and found the info page. Can anyone clarify this:
": Due to the high volume of seller activity during Post-o-Rama, the Import and Refresh functions on the Open Auctions page will be disabled to increase site-posting performance. Please remember to complete all imports and refreshes for Open Auctions prior to 11:59pm Eastern Time on November 1st."
What I need to know is this: in order to meet the deadline, do I need to create and save all auctions by 11:59PM tonight? Or will I be able to create them using goto.com on the 2nd?
THANKS

Keziak...you can list them tomorrow also...just list them to post "immediately' instead of a delayed posting time.
I'm on the west coast and goto is on the east coast...the listing times are east coast time, so starting tonight at 9pm my time I will start listing items to list immediately as I finish the ad.
What they are disabling are functions that are unrelated to uploading an auction listing.

Amy -
You have made me a happy girl! Because I already got permission to take off tomorrow afternoon and was planning to play "ebay listing catch-up" anyway!
Sure hope both goto and ebay don't go down, though.

tracey - Congrats on getting 300 auctions scheduled! >>
Thanks!!! I am also impressed with the numbers you guys have up. you know Friday night I am going to Celebrate!!! My Goal was 300 I hit that and over but I ain't stopping yet : ).
Also because I use them on a regular basis (I also use the listing services here at auctionwatch depends on what I am doing) I have some things over their that I just hit resubmit that helped. I also had a few things that went without bids when ebay was (still is) having all those problems. However, most are new.
Comic not allowed to put a link here, but if you think about it and the name and how links are done bet you can get there easily. Most wen addresses start with a www and end with a com
If it is government it is gov and
org for not profit, but most sites are businesses and end with a com and the end of the url for instance www.auctionwatch.com
Sounds like auctionrover/GoTo have offered this free listing day before... how frequently have they offered this ? >>
About 2 times a year that I know of or every time the make and major software changes.
Good Luck all and do the Ebay work dance tomorrow night : ).

Doesn't look like goto can as nothing but server problems now when trying to create listings. Hopefully this is just short-term.

Another question. I posted a bunch tonight (no, not 300!) including 2 "test" listings. The two tests didn't show up with photos on ebay. I checked one of them and there was a URL in the right place, but it had "null" in the string. Nothing linking my photo.
I don't understand what I am doing wrong. When I tried to go back in and check the auctions I'd saved to have posted tomorrow, it seemed like it would only allow me to change the listing time, nothing else, so I couldn't double-check the URL.
Confused...

Keziak I am not sure you are doing anything wrong. It seems to be working fine for me though and some others that are posting. They have message boards over then and tech help (quicker when you e-mail them. That might prove to be a fast source for you. I have been double listing all night (using 2 browers) and it seems to be okay but a little slow and of course I am starting to see double. Try emptying your cache then going back and seeing what you see or don't see. Sometimes it is in your cache or browser and not the site.

HEY TRACEY!! THANK YOU! wow i love these boards, great people here..really needed the free list deal
ok it took me an hour to figure it out,,& set it all up,,,neat templetes, pretty listings, cool choices of counter i choose a cute dog one..
i went to their message board other people having pic problem FINALLY i got it.is this right.??
i tried to launch one same thing no pics.(came up error).
so i went to images,,,then i saw something..YOU HAVE TO COPY & PASTE THE URL
PUT IT IN YOUR DESCRIPTION(A PAIN BUT IT'S OK) also You must copy & paste one of the lower boxes url on the page to put in the ebay pic box,& if you want to use the gallery BUT IT WORKS..so go to your page near bottom it says something about url for pics..NOT AUTOMATIC like good ole a/w wish they'd do a free deal too. thanks also for the tip on it ending at 9pm our time cause on east coast or i'd never have realized it. THANKS VERY MUCH! Pam Oregon ( i ate it so bad the last few weeks on ebay, this will help,i am trying yahoo too now actually made a sale,,not much hits unless you are featured, but go to main page there is a link to CONVERT YOUR EBAY FEEDBACK TO DOLLARS TO FEATURE YOUR AUCTIONS AT between .10 + per day.It works.NOW that is a company that appreciates & wants us,I mean
good business to do that.check it out.. good luck!

Tracey - Just saying "thanks" once again. I figured out what I was doing wrong, and now it's OK [though on Friday I'll be busy going back to auctions to add photos].
Whew, I'm worn out, never listed so hard before! But I think it will be so worth it, because I can get some "iffy" things out of my inventory, stuff I thought might sell, but might not. By having my listing fees refunded, it's less risk to me if they don't end up selling.
What great timing, too. My sales are really good now, maybe people are buying stuff for presents. This is such a perfect time to get the bulk of my inventory on ebay where it can do me some good! : - )

ps note: the refund of fees will take 6-8 weeks, through check or paypal.
if you sign up with bank acct they will send you an auction kit & free tee shirt..
plus!! do a storefront & it will link to your auctions on the goto search engine..pretty neat..funny i have just now gotten more hits on the ones I JUST LISTED than on my other listings in a couple of days??? maybe this way of listing works around the software glitches ebay is having?? if anyone else notices this please post wow that would be so cool.thanks again tracey,Pam

For anyone who has done this before, does goto give you a total amount of refund or do you just figure it out for yourself and make a note in your records to check in 6-8 weeks to make sure they issued the refund?
I assume the refunds do show up as promised? Have they issued them via PayPal before?

Hi All! I have a question about Goto. I have been using both AW and Goto and this is my first free listing day. Am I to understand that if I list stuff today at go to that I can't schedule them to go on tonight? I have to launch now? Just wondering because I am thinking Sunday Afternoon might not be such a hot day for them to end. I might just do seven day. Thanks! Julie

Well 3 bags of snickers, 1 bag a milkways a large ham and cheese sub a cherry coke fountain style and 2 bags of carmels and I am ready to go again.

They will send you an e-mail with the amount a few days after the launch. They paid me with paypal before. Now I don't have paypal so they will send a check. It does take awhile though I think the last one took about 4 weeks. I figure the refund check will come around Christmas which is great. it will be my CHristmas present : ) to BLOW!
Keziak I am not sure why you have to go though all that. If I had the time I would check it for you because they show up fine for me and it is automatic like here on AW. If it weren't I certainly would use them no matter how FREE they were and how many free days they had.
As for the store front I don't like it I also don't use it. There are things I like about their site. There are things I like about AW. They are both good sites. AW might have a bit of an edge on some things but I always get page not found or some sort of error over and over and have to redraw the screen 2 or 3 times at high traffic times. So I use them both. That works best for me and it is nice to be able to use one when the other isn't working correctly. It is also good to know both incase I ever need a backup
I can get some "iffy" things >>
Yes I am doing the same and some of the High Priced items and ones I can do Dutch auctions on.
Happy Listing ALL!!!

HI, HAHA sorry,i was half asleep trying to learn a new site.. I only had to copy & paste because "I" hadn't pre-loaded pics to choose from pic library,,Yes it is all automatic...
up WAY too late last night.
good luck everyone,,,i cannot beleive it! all ready got 3 bids on an item i listed at 4am
thanks Tracey,Pam
did anyone else notice..lately LOTS of newbies out there,& they like that 1.00 min bid with a reserve...i like to just put my lowest acceptable price & no reserve(of course to save that buck each auction) but seems new ones love to bid from 1.00.this has really changed for me in the last 6 months.

Great Amy I haven'
t launched mine yet I do a lot of relgious stuff and have them ending on Sunday and most don't get home until later. However ebay is down and it isn't even primetime yet. So who knows what will happen. I thought the free day might tax to much Ebay already very poor system stabilty. I have 343 scheduled to launch. We will see what happens.
J fuller you can schedule them for later but they must go off by 11:59 today.
Now whether ebay will be Ebay will be up for them to launch is another story
343 (that doesn't include the dutch auctions which I have about 10 of them)

My test listings have posted correctly. I have about 60 more scheduled to list later this evening.
I used a combination of 3,5, 7, and 10 days auctions to minimize my chances of getting stuck with another ebay outage.
Does anyone know how to find out when eBays free day is. Last year it was either December 22 or 23, but I missed it. How much notice does e bay give?
