Everywhere I go they ask you to have a return policy and to state it clearly to buyers. Any suggestions or samples to formulate a good return policy for a new seller here? Thanks for any suggestions and/or advice.

My return policy is "No Returns unless I made a mistake in describing the item". Has worked for me for my 2+ years on Ebay.

Good for you, blconnor, for deciding to accept returns on your auctions. Buyers have more confidence when sellers stand behind their merchandise, IMO.

I offer 3-day return privileges for any reason. It's worked well for me, virtually eliminating the irate emails that upset buyers are known to send. Total returns this year (out of about 2,000 sales)= 2.

A suggestion: with any return policy you decide on, also make it a practice to mark your merchandise, either with an invisible marker or other means. Then mention this fact in your TOS. Anyone surfing for an easy switch-scam mark will bypass your auctions.

I usually sell new stuff so I just say satisfaction guaranteed - if not pleased return for refund. And if someone returns - very rare - I pay shipping both ways. I had
a seller return a $112.00 item and gave no arguement - it was a picky little thing - aline was etched instead of engraved. He was worried it woold rub off in 5 years or so!
He was so happy I refunded him he ordered $400.00 of other stuff.
But I sold a old radio and after describing every little scratch and scuff, and posting a sharp pic, I said item is accuratly described and one of a kind. No returns.
