Good morning to all.
I just finished listing a couple of auctions. The first one had a normal 9 digit number starting with "489". Nothing unusual there. The second, listed just a few minutes later, has a 10 digit number starting with "100".

No, not a glich. eBay has seperated some categories on to their own individual servers and items listed in those categories are assigned number from a block reserved for that server.
Recently I got sequencial numbers for some listings and one item in "Sports" was numbered 1100071055.
What was a glich was that the My eBay page showed the "Sports" item was not available yesterday. It's back today.
Guess it's better to have just part of the listings not available than the whole system down.
The parallel between eBays site performance and the utility availability (water, electric and phone)in some Third World countries seems to grow stronger every day.
'Don't Worry, Be happy" should be the offical sellers theme song.
