Hi all--
Last night I posted under the topic "Please help me!" about a bidder of mine who decided to bid on more of my auctions to post , likely negative feedback, when he felt that I did not leave his positive feedback fast enough, and he left me e-mails stating such. Anyway, I followed the advice and contacted safe harbor, cancelling his new bids, forwarding his e-mails to them, and cc'd a copy to him. I got a reply from Ebay stating to let them know if he bid on any more of my auctions, and they would consider suspension for him. Ok--so problem resolved, and I have not heard from him--great!
But guess what? I am now receiving e-mails from various pornography sites that I "signed up" for--and just started receiving them today, naturally, at the e-mail that I use for my Ebay transactions. So apparently this is his way of getting the last shot in. I know that I can tell them to remove me from their mailing list,or just ignore this, which is fine, etc. but I was wondering if any of you computer geniuses knew how I could trace this sign up back to him, and possibly alert his ISP? Any advice? I am not really offended by porn, but I certainly don't want it polluting my e-mail account everytime I log in, and I certainly don't want someone signing me up for these things that I do not want. What a hassle. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated--thanks for your help!

Wow! That's awful! Can you copy the complete headers? If so, send the headers to [email protected] can also send it all to [urlhttp://www.spamcop.com[/url]they probably can contact the ISP the mail originates from...I think...Not sure!...

I'm sure someone knowledgeable will soon come along.

You'll be happy to know that these porn web page e-mail thingies record the user info when you sign up for the freebies. Simply contact each web site owner by e-mail, explain the problem and request the info that they recorded on the person who signed you up. You than have proof that you can use.

I have one neighbor whose tech job has been turned into being paid full-time to slam junk-mailers. He says you can contact that person's local police department and file a police report. You can then take him to court on a civil suit if you wanted to go that far.

Good Luck!

You may or may not be unhappy to know that spammers get eBay addresses to spam x-rated sites to all the time. You get them even if you don't have enemies. A standard spam line is "you signed up for our list". Right. You respond, to complain, and then you do sign up for their list.

Yet another reason to make sure that your eBay addresses are "soft". Throw them away periodically, when they get too polluted with spam.
