Interesting article in November 13 issue of TIME Magazine --- says PayPal's offered on about a quarter of eBay auctions, Billpoint offered on "many more":

Nobody has asked me to take Billpoint; about half of my bidders use PayPal. I doubt there's any advantage to doing so, so I am sticking with PayPal.

One advantage of BillPoint that I find is the funds are tranfered automatically in about two day.

No requesting transfers no requesting checks saves time just send the billpoint invoice and sit back.

We sold over 500 items this week.

Almost 100 have been paid already by BillPoint's Instant Payment option.

We have requests for another 75 BillPoint invoices to be sent to people.

We have 10 requests for payment by PayPal.

We don't accept PayPal. We do not intend to start accepting PayPal.

We are international sellers and BillPoint has bent over backwards to help us out. PayPal has done absolutely nothing for us except pretend to expand their operations internationally. No international seller should be accepting PayPal unless they want to set up an account in the USA.

Our customers want BillPoint and they don't seem to want PayPal at all anymore.

I want my bidders to be happy...

They can pay me by Billpoint, PayPal, check, money order, or even cash if they want to take the chance.

My last 100 auctions ended up with about 30 PayPal payments, 15 Billpoint, and the rest via check/money order.

I believe Billpoint will be doing better this month because of the $1 off they are offering bidders.

But, again, whatever makes the bidder happy I am willing to offer....
