Jeepers, I was just getting ready to move to the 5XXXXXXXX series of item numbers on eBay and I ran across this brand new auction started this evening: has eBay jumped to 10 digit numbers tonight? I saw new auction number

I don't know how many more of these 10-digit items are out there. It's gonna screw me up just a little bit if we move to 10-digit item numbers, I use a template here with 9 digits for stuff I print and I figured I had a year or so before we hit 10 digits.

Atleast 50% of my auctions for the past month or so have been the ten digit ones. Better reconfigure that template.

? Any idea WHY some auctions would be 10 digits? We've run 360 auctions nightly all month and have NOT yet had a 10-digit item number?

thx marie

It seems to be connected to the moving/splitting of certain categories to different servers. I am getting 10 digit item numbers for items listed in "Sports" and in "Everything Else"
