I'm waiting for my buyer to send me his address which he did, only my Norton Antivirus comes on and says there is a virus do I want to fix it? YES! Can't do it. Do I want to innoculate? YES! Can't do it. Do I want to delete it? YES! Can't do it! Then I couldn't delete this e-mail from my inbox.
Finally got my internet service to help me delete all my e-mails, however, any advise as to how to keep this from happening again? Or what really did happen?
I e-mailed my buyer from my yahoo e-mail, but so far haven't heard from him. Do you think he is unable to operate his CP at this time?
Also, I never did find out what kind of virus this was. Any thoughts?
My computer ability is limited to point and click !!

The virus is most likely the new one - here is information, go to this link which is McAfee Clinic and they will tell you exactly what to do.

IF your Norton told you it was an infected letter just delete the thing, if you haven't opened it.
Was this an attachment to a letter?
Actually, I didn't see you were running Norton, I prefer Norton to McAfee, but either way - when was the last time you updated Norton? Most of the anti-virus programs have to be kept updated to stay on top of the latest viruses.
Sometimes a limited point and click has nothing to do with a virus, and is just a glitch in your computer. I've had my whole screen freeze, all I have to do is a restart and that takes care of the problem.
BUT if I were you I'd delete the infected letter and try to go to Norton for the "cure."

It may have been the Kak worm? I use Netscape for my email & for some unknown reason the last few times I've received the Kak worm I ended up in the same situation as you.
What I found that worked was to click delete on the email message [it doesn't appear to delete] then go to trash & empty the trash
[takes 2 goes sometimes].
The only downside is my entire inbox gets deleted, and not just the infected email.

A few months back I responded to a sellers EOA mail to me. Unknowingly my computer was infected with the Kak Worm Virus and I sent it right along to them with my email response to the seller. I had a Macafee Virus shield that had not caught the virus when I received it.
To make a long story short, the seller sent me an email advising me of my virus and asked me to phone them regarding finalizing the auction, and not to email them. Turns out the sellers were the sweetest, most sincere and helpful people I have ever come across. Not only did they explain how to download the Norton Virus shield, but they walked me through how to clean up my computer and fix everything the virus had affected. Truly wonderful sellers who have my unending patronage.

I did that last year for some sellers. Pulled their info and called them. The sweetest elderly couple who had no clue what I was taking about...They learnt how to update their Norton, which has been sleeping this whole time...
I have read that many Anti Virus software leak like sieves!
And anyone with Norton, the automatice "Live Update" has been more like "dead" since July. Most users have to go up to Symantec and do a MANUAL Virus Definition update.

A good place to look at for virus fixes is http://www.pchell.com
It also has a page for the KAK virus with an automatic removal link. http://www.pchell.com/internet/kakworm.shtml
Hope you never need it, but if you do hope it helps
