I was one of the dummies that actually payed for a subscription. Got this info with my magazine.
You currently have a balance left for fulfillment on your subscription and we would like to offer you a subscription to any of our additional titles. We will fulfill your remaining issues on a one for one basis with any of our 48 titles.
The form to transfer your subscription along with a complete list and a brief description of each publication is located at http://ebaychoice.krause.com. Well, I went there and get a page saying "no such address". Has anyone tried to view this form?

I was also one of the dummies who paid for a subscription. I went into that site about 2 weeks ago, and it worked fine. My problem was trying to find an alternative to eBay magazine. The choices weren't great. Anyway, I just tried the address again, and it worked for me. It took me right to a special page for eBay magazine subscribers. Try it again: http://ebaychoice.krause.com/

skwid, thanks for responding. I thought if someone else got in I'd try again. I don't know what was wrong but I still got that "no such address" several more times. But, finally got to the page, and you're right not much to choose from.

I had the same problem but I finally emailed someone there with my info and told them what I wanted to do. The response was quick and very pleasant. They forwarded my email to the correct person and it was changed over.

I hear a stack of all the issues is bringing a decent buck on Yahoo.

There is an 800 number in all that info you received. Call it, and tell them your contract was for Ebay magazine and that you don't wish something else but would rather have your money back. Mine (refund) came swiftly and I had just renewed.

Just curious - why do you suppose the magazine folded, and will eBay put out something else to replace it? Maybe under a different publisher?

Krause is reportedly planning a "Super Seller" Email newsletter in the place of eBay magazine. Ebay, on the other hand, has still not disclosed their plans.

Marble~
It folded because it's content was not interesting enough to ebaY users and not enough people wanted to read it. They were giving away mega numbers of comp subs and comparatively few were coming back with paid subs.
I'd be surprised to see another mag come out. The mainstream publishing industry is lost on publications about the internet. They COULD do it, but they would have to unlearn most of what they know and I doubt any of them would do that.
I mean, you really DO have to know more about the subject than your readers in order to interest them, and ebaY Magazine never did. They had a few 'human interest' stories that were readable each issue, but from putting celebrities on the cover to try and entice readers to the blah filler content that comprised most of that magazine, it was not worth the price, IMO.... and apparently in the opinions of many others as well. With the number of actual daily users ebaY has, they had a big enough audience to make it work. They just didn't know what to put in it.

toyranch thanks for the insight. I guess it's not hard to see why they folded!
