Hi Oddish~~ (One of my favorite pokemon!)
The expansion pack comes with some of the games like pokemon stadium. This allows you to use the Gameboy cartridges like pokemon blue, silver and gold with the stadium cartridge......
Not really sure about the others. Kidlet is a certified pokemon game nut! I have had to restrict his use because he eats, sleeps and breathes pokemon!
Hope he retains as much useful information as he does pokemon stats!

The rumble pack is cool. It makes the handset vibrate to coincide with the action on the screen. I think we have the memory pack as well, but will have to check at home for sure.

I don't know if you 'need' one, but the rumble pack is really cool. The only game I've played with it on was the Mario Speedracer (or something like that).
Can't help more than that, I've got the hand/eye coordination of a rock so I don't play many video games.

The above is an excellent source for gamers, with sections for all the major manufacturers, and hints for most games. This 47 year old long time gamer and his 10 and 7 year old daughters all enjoy it.

An EXPANSION PAK is a 4-megabyte Random Access Memory (RAM) cartridge that inserts into the top of the Nintendo 64 game console. There is a removable panel on the top of the console, and the 4 meg Expansion Pak simply slides into the slot. Note that some games require an expansion pak to play. More information at http://www.nintendo.com/n64/expansionpak.html.
A RUMBLE PAK can be inserted on the bottom of the controller to add vibration to your gameplay. Note that games have to support rumble feature for this to work. More information at http://www.nintendo.com/n64/rumblepak.html.
CONTROLLER PAK or MEMORY PAK lets you save game progress, Controller button configurations, built-up character attributes, created characters and more. More information at http://www.nintendo.com/n64/controllerpak.html.
A TRANSFER PAK allows data transfer from a Game Boy cartridge to your N64. As far as I know, this is only currently used in Pokemon Stadium. Plug in your Game Boy Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold or Silver Pokemon game and use the characters you have built up to fight other characters.
