This concerns me very much - I *NEVER* requested my password be changed!! The way I understand this, is someone figured out my password (and it couldn't have been easy!) and did a change password request. Ebay luckily sent ME the temporary password, which I now have to use to get my password changed to something else.
Has anyone else had this happen before?? I just emailed safeharbor & support about this, as I NEVER requested to change my password!

Better go check and see if "you" have bid on anything. Try to use a mor difficult password. Yours must have been keyed to something someone could find out about you or been of a nature to be cracked bym a program.

My password was letters and numbers, that didn't mean anything specific, so I don't know how someone could have figured it out. I just checked and it doesn't show that I've bid on anything....

Or maybe a ebay glitch.
Other then what you already have done change the password again and checking there is no bids been made under your ID not much else you can do till you hear from Ebay.
I have seen this happen on yahoo two users the user names different but by some werid incident there paswwords turn out to be the same the system mixes them up.

Blanche:
Thank you very much for that information! As a matter of fact, I just received a letter from Ebay stating they did do that!
I had emailed [email protected] earlier today and asked them to reset my auctions since all my auctions were not showing up on my seller's list. Here is what Ebay said:
I need to apologize to you for a mistake that I made while resetting this list for you. I accidentally generated a new psssword and had it sent to you. Let me assure you that this will not affect your account in any way. What I would like for you to do before you delete that email, though, is to check and make sure that your current password is still working. If it does work just ignore that email altogether. I am very sorry for this mix up on my part and I hope that it will not cause you any added trouble.
I checked and my password did NOT work, so I had to go through the whole process again and redo my password. Arrrrgggghhhhh!
Well, at least I'm glad to hear it was an ebay mistake and no one got my password! I was so worried!

I was very new on eBay when I received the same message and because of being new I had no idea what they were talking about. I just replied & said I never requested my password to be changed & never heard another thing about it. I didn't change my password either. Your post interested me because now I know what happened. It was certainly a glitch. I would hate to change my password because I use it for everything. Don't know if this is a good idea, but it makes things easier for me.
