Hi, I won an auction from a seller in England.
Is an International MO the best and most economical way to send payment?
What is the conversion of 62.00 in British pounds to US currency?
Thanks, Lauren

You pay for the money order in american money + an additional $8.50 for the international money order. You fill out the back of the money order with your name and address and the seller's name and address and then you have to send it to St. Louis where they convert the money into english pounds. That address is on the back of the money order. Then they send it to your seller. It can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks for the seller to receive it. Your other alternative, which I don't know if I'd do it, would be to send him cash via registered mail. He can covert it over to pounds.

Hi,
His listing states payment by MO or cashiers check.
He is a new seller with positive 3 feedback. He first assumed I was in Great Britain. I e-mailed him and told him I was in the US. He calculated postage accordingly.
I think I will e-mail him and ask what is the best way. 4-6 weeks seems an awfully long time to wait on payment. Thanks, Lauren

Yes, you may buy an International money order at the post office. Just ask the clerk for one. They will ask you what country it is for. You will need to let them know what denomination of what currency you need. After paying they will hand you the money order. Fill it out like a regular money order. This one will be a different color than you're used to.

I live in England and my bank charge me exactly the same fee (around $8) for anything coming from abroad, no matter what currency it is in. It costs me the same for an IMO in £ as it does for a personal check in $. I bank with the Halifax if you want to mention this to your seller (in a nice helpful way of course ) Always searching for Heffalumps
