I've recently closed my PayPal account (thank God!!). Does anyone know what would happen if someone tries to send me funds now that the account is closed? Would they receive a message regarding the closed account. Just curious...thanks!

I don't think they would receive a message, but the transaction should appear in their account as "pending", or something like that, and they would have the ability to cancel it.

On the confirmation page they'll be told that the person they are sending the money to isn't a registered user. If they ignore that and still send it the item will show as unclaimed and they'd have a 'cancel' button on the transaction.

It has been mentioned more than once that when a PayPal account is closed a message pops up informing that once they close their account they will not be permitted to open an account in the future.
One would think that if someone sends a payment to a person that has closed their account, PayPal would reject such payment.
