Ok, after months of research, I signed up for Billpoint to enable my customers to pay by credit card....Now, as I relist/list items, I'm NOT too happy about offering the Billpoint payment option on my small sales, especially those items that I'm relisted at "give-away" prices just to basically get them outta here....What with eBay fees & Billpoint fees, at the end of the day, I'll be makin' a whoppin' .50 on these items!....
How do you other sellers handle this???....Do you offer Billpoint or Paypal or any other services that charges on EVERY item you sell?....Or do you (based on price) offer it selectively?....I've been in many a BM store that has a minimum amount for charges, doesn't seem too far off base....But I would like to hear the general consensus.....

yup I offer BillPoint option on every auction I list no matter the listed starting price.
I would say 98% of all sales under $5 are paid by money order or cash sent in the mail mostly people pay useing these CC service I find on Item $10 or more.
I feel as well at times since I offer Bill Point Paypal and other services some auctions end higher then I could hope, then they do when I lst with out the payment options. http://www.Dman-N-Company.com

A year ago, when I first started using billpoint, I offered it selectively..after a few months I changed that and offered it on everything..was just easier. No more worrying about which EOA to send-with/without billpoint.
On your low end items just raise the opening bid 50 cents to cover the fee.

I offer it on everything I sell, both high end, and the low $ junk. I still get 80% of the high bidders paying with checks & MO's.

Thanx folks....I can see Dman3 point on higher sales (sometimes ya never know when something will take off & I'm sure that the CC option can definitely be an asset).....
Amy, 1st set of auctions closing with Billpoint, and I can see what you're saying about making it easier, I'm still learning how to readjust my SOPs to incorporate Billpoint payments...I'll either raise the low end prices or let the high ends cover their fees....
reddeer, interesting to hear that most of your high end payments are still in the form of checks & MO's.....I would have thought that the high ends would have wanted the protection of Credit Cards....
I still have alot to learn about this payment option, but so far it seems to be workin' for me...Even with those buyers who are asking for paypal & I redirect to Billpoint, seems (in my limited experience so far) they don't really care which service they use, just as long as they get to pay "faster" with their credit card......

I don't offer billpoint on the stuff that I think will go really cheap. I know I wouldn't use my credit card to pay for a $5.00 item. However, life is full of surprises and sometimes things sell for a lot more than I ever thought they would. When that happens I offer the winner the option to use billpoint.
