One of my auctions had no bids and it has a reserve price. The very first bid hit the reserve on the nose. There was only one bid not multiple. I am very glad to have the bid but don't know how she did it.
I have never posted to the board but read it often and find y'all give great advice most of the time.
Thanks!

They probably placed a bid greater than your reserve price. When this happens, the reserve price is met, and the bid stands at the reserve price. I'll bet!

Just yesterday I bid on an item with a reserve price and it didn't bring it up to reserve and my opening bid was way above starting bid but not up to the reserve. It just took it up to opening bid. You are probably right though. Thanks

The bidder made a bid in an amount equal to or greater than the reserve you set for the item.

Suppose there is an item reserved for $100.00 with an opening bid of $25.00

If someone makes a first bid of $150.00 then you will see them listed as the high bidder at $100.00 with reserve met.

If someone makes a first bid of $75.00 then you will see them listed as high bidder at $25.00 with reserve not yet met.
