Anyone have any experience with ending auctions on a HOLIDAY!?
I don't know what I was thinking. The Benadryl is getting to my brain, apparently, but I forgot that T.Giving was this Thursday, seeing as how we already celebrated it 2 weeks ago because my brother will be gone on the actual *day*. I'd put it out of my mind as "done", I guess. <sigh>
Anyway the auctions are ending Thursday evening! I'm worry that this will spell doom for any last minute-bids. Then again, I wonder how many "football widows" will be online that evening, since their spouses are glued to the set or asleep anyway? Any hope for that?
I guess it's pointless to try and analyze what bidders 'might' do on Thanksgiving day. I know *I* will probably be online because I've already done the whole T.giving "thing"... but what about the rest of the world?

I was wondering the same thing about it being a holiday and all. Maybe people will be online AFTER stuffing themselves?

I think the football game is early but there is Deer Hunting in the midwest so the men will be hunting and if your lucky the wives will be on ebay. Maybe that will be a good day. Don't forget to report after the Holiday. Happy Thanksgiving Day everyone.

Well if I remember correctly from last years threads (I had no auctions going at Christmas or Thanksgiving), the Traffic was quite heavy on both those Holidays and sellers were quite happy with the prices they got. I think a lot of people are at home and feel like shopping, but the Stores are closed, but eBay is always OPEN.

I remember last Thanksgiving thinking it would be a good time to snag some bargains. I was looking for a couple of hard to acquire toys (at the time) and the collectible categories for specific Christmas gift items. Boy was I wrong! Not only were the items I interested in bid up to high amounts, there was active sniping wars going on at the end. This was throughout Thanksgiving Day and into the evening. So it last year anyway, it was a great day to have listings. Who knows about this year? Ebay sales have been at a record low for this time of year. While my own auctions aren't bringing much, I have been buying quite a bit at resale prices. I don't have anything set to close during Thanksgiving day and weekend, but that may be my mistake.

I personally love shopping Ebay on major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc. I secretly feel that nobody else will be bidding and all the bargains will be MINE, MINE, MINE!!!! I have never ended an auction on a holiday, though. Let us know how it went.
