<p>Upcoming Changes in Jewelry, Gemstones

Thank you, Jewelry Category Community, for stepping forward to help us improve the latest round of Jewelry Category changes.

After reviewing [email protected] e-mail box responses and spending time on the chat board discussing the changes with you, we will be making some additions to the Jewelry Categories. These include reinstating Ethnic, Tribal Jewelry as a second–level category and adding subcategories to it for Asian, Mexican, and Native American pieces. In addition, we're adding a Handcrafted, Artisan category with a subcategory for Silver, Signed.

A preview of the new structure is shown below. To help facilitate understanding, the Category numbers are shown in brackets next to each Category name. We will update this page with numbers for the additions once we have them. To see a complete list of all eBay Categories with their numbers, click here.

These changes are planned to go into effect in December 2000.

Thank you for all your feedback! We look forward to many more improvements in the future and very much appreciate the Community involvement in the process. As a team, we can't help but come up with the best possible solution!

Hmm . . . subcategories Asian, Mexican, and Native American pieces, but none for African, India, or Other?

Obviously they respond to specific complaints and their little minds can not deal in principles so that the reshape the whole category in a rational manner. If you want a sub-category you will have to get in there and yell and scream about it load and long.

All these changes were supposedly in response to requests also - kinda hard to believe.
