I know that there were several threads served up on AW last week or so that screamed and cried about eBay's new settings for Jewelry Categories. But for me, it is much better than the old category layouts.

True, it would be nice if the Artist Jewelry category was put back -- that's only common sense. After all, thokse foks put in a .lot of work, talent, and skill into their jewelry for not a lot of profit. Putting them with ready-made jewerly is just a crime, IMO.

I am missing the Novelties Jewelry category where I usually list a lot of holiday-related stuff. I think it would be better for customers to look for holiday items in a holiday section -- or a Novelties section again.

All-in-all, though, I think that whomever did the sorting out this last time did an excellant job. The Jewelry section makes more sense now: Jewelry is broken down into piece type; such as, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, etc. And from there, each is broken down into major component types: gold, Sterling, Gemstone, etc. That's great!

I'm sure no one will write another post to this thread, but I just had to say that I like the newer arrangement over the old one.

I just wish that they would bring back a "turquoise" category, but they say that they are adding a native american one. Though I hope that they mix all types together, it makes it easier to shop.

Art Deco, Victorian, & Edwardian under "Costume Jewelry" but nothing for "Fine" jewelry??? The whole new break down was designed by a dolt IMO.

I am really missing the novelty jewelry, too.

Hmmphf? Actual responses? OK.

soldbyi: Turquoise under "Native American"?? Where am I supposed to list all of my African Turquoise then?

reddeer: Wow! That's messed up! Of course, those periods did create an incredible amount of paste jewelry. I'm no expert on those three areas, though.
