The new catagory numbers came out at 5am.Jewelry number of auctions since Nov.12th
Is down 53,249 Wish I had done a print out on
the 10th,Lot of dumping and no relists the first two days. This is going to get a lot lower,Xmas is no good for the jewelry people,
Since the catagory changes.I doubt many of them will return after the holidays. They feel
Decieved and betrayed by ebay making all the changes right at the season, they waited all
Year to recover in.(site stability)ebay let someone change the jewelry catagorys that did
Not have a clue about jewelry.Jammed up jewelry catagories with costume and gold and silver. And girlfriend had an attitude about it!Can ebay get any more stupid?I bet they can,Im gonna eat a can of sardines and await
The new changes with baited breath.

LOVE the ending - gotta save that one.
I had a looong...exchange of e-mail with an
eBay VP about how the auction categories for the machine trades are all messed up and you can list in any one of 3 or 4 ctegories because there is no real home for many items - they are just kind of listed by custom certain places. They made NO changes at all.
So don't think it is just jewelery. They are not responsive in any area. They are too big now like General Motors to pay attention to a few individuals.

They have totally screwed me this Christmas season.
No one can find my stuff. I don't really know where to post it. There is no category for artist jewelry. I use lampworked beads, etc. It isn't costume. It isn't considered fine.
The biggest &^$! shopping season of the year and eBay parks me in the back alley.

Macandjan,No common sense and no real hands on buisness sense in the catagory.Thats what it takes to screw up a buisness for a lot of people.People are secondary to ebays big plans,so if they dont need the people,Maybe ebay should just shut down the auctions.Seems
like they are headed that way anyway.I can lend you a can of sardines.

Isworeyoudiddoitbefore,
I watched the toy and pony show from the rafters in the jewelry room. That was a stinking shame. If it makes you feel any better, ebay jewelry is half of what it usually runs. The number of auctions on jewelry is usually 300,000,As of today it is
151,278 auctions.Seems some other jewelry people are upset. That maybe why the numbers were froze for 3 days,The clock was updated but not the numbers.Wish I could tell you a good place to go with your items,There is none.

You know, I make my own jewelry, and I swear, i spent MONTHS gearing up for this Christmas season. My sales are slow and there are only haf the usual amount of listings? Sheesh.

I saw something on the ebay, that as of December 1st they are adding more jewelry categories, including re\adding artist jewelry. So maybe there is hope.....

Seems like it would have been better for eBay to make their jewelry category changes after the holiday season.

The numbers froze up again another 3 days. The
new numbers as of this morning,Jewelry is down another 1,838 The total of jewelry auctions listed now is 149,440. ebay is going to change the catagorys in Dec.They didnt say what day in Dec.You can look at the catagory changes now,This change is a watered down version of all the jewelry. There will be so many of the catagories,You will be forced to list in several places to be seen.Hopefully
This will work for the jewelry people,I dont
think ebay thought so many loyal ebay sellers would stop selling. The total number down is less then half in the 3 weeks this fiasco
started,This does not sound all that earth shattering,However,Most of these auctions were 7 days. That is 3x the amount down.
Makes you wonder how many bidders were lost
In the new market annexation math.
