I remember sometime back I had made a comment to PayPal Damon that "I do not understand why PayPal is giving something away for free. Is it not a fact that they too are in Business for a profit?. What's in it for them?" and PayPal Damon just skipped over my thread comment, and thanked someone else for understanding what a "difficult job" he had trying to be everyones new best friend." We saw the end result! Now I ask...WHAT'S IN IT FOR EBAY?? They already said "free during the Christmad Sales period" or something to that effect, letting us know the "free" is for a qualified time. This is to get us used to the instant gratification of sales we all like, in and out the door with the products. How to they plan to charge later for insertion fees? I have some widgets that go for $60-$80 consistantly. I start the bid out very low and pay a low listing fee, because I know in the end, I will get my price. Will EBAY charge now on the BIN price as a listing fee, and right along with that, if the widget doesn't get any bids at all, will they allow relists, but you must keep the BIN price as your re-listing charge? Ya just gotta know this is a brainchild of the Bottom Line Gang, and you know who is going to pay for it in the long run folks! Thoughts on this?

I suppose enough people will use it and like it and when the fees come out will say "oh, another 25 cents per listing? OK".

WHAT'S IN IT FOR EBAY??
Making money! If I owned a business I would do the same thing, let people try it for free to see if they like it.....get people interest up and then at some point charge money...
Remember you still have a choice....either use it or don't...
Ebay is a business and their job is to make money.....
