OK I have had it with pay pal bidders. I am ready to just neg them when they send me payment. I clearly say on auctions checks or money orders. On invoice in bold I say not pay pal at this time. I am sick of telling bidders the 100 resons why I wont take pay pal any more. I am ready to just neg them and move one. Does anyone have a way to stop them from sending pay pal that you dont want?

Sure, send it back!

Or cancel your account with PayPal. That way if they send a payment, they get this little note that says you are not a registered user. Of course, you also get a notice from PayPal telling you to sign up to collect. Just don't do it.

Be wary though, some bidders will neg you for not accepting it.

Why won't you accept it if you have a PayPal account?

Okay, you asked. I vote no. Why would you want to jeopardize your Ebay reputation for someone's oversight? I would think that they would retaliate with a neg right back. See if you can accommodate the credit card happy customer by offering alternatives. I really like to work with people who can work with me.

A happy customer means better chances of having a repeat customer.

PS Also curious why you have a PayPal account and not use it when people want to send you the cash that way.

Pay pal has been worthless to me since 9/12. I cant get money out of it to my bank acccount. They dropped my checking account with the change. I refuse to upgrade. I got a neg today after sending back a deadbeats payment from pay pal. Ebays answer so far is bidders can not force sellers to accept pay pal . Lets see what they do with the neg. I want to close the account, I dont even care whst happens to the money that the bidders that cant read. To me Pay pal is so rocky I dont want any part of it any more. To be forced to take it is unreal. I even want to put in invoices. I will neg pay pal payments.

geezzz there are people out there on Ebay yelling sales are down cant get bids sick of spending and getting no sales.

Here is someone with paying bidders that wants to neg them I guess I dont understand what these online auctions are all about cry for sales then run off paying bidders.

If you dont want to receive notices from paypal block email from them that simple keep writeing notices to buyers till they send the check.

Tell you what if I was a bidder on your auction and I sent you a payment no matter how I sent it and if you gave me negitive feed back for sending this payment I would not only neg you back and I would also post all over the web about your type of of insanity.

this garbage over paying tio accept credit cards this stuff you are saying here is the number one thing right now killing all our sales and keeping the negtive press going giveing them Junk like this to print.

If you dont trust paypal take the payment through paypal and transfer it to your bank dont leave the money there end of story.

Talked to my bank they assure me no matter if I verify with paypal allowing them to deposit into my account they will in no way let paypal eletronically withdraw anything from my checking account only way it can happen is if I write a check in there name or I give the bank and paypal the ok in writeing on paper.

most banks are starting to here the complaints on these third party credit card services and are blocking all withdrawals this in no way means you are not responable if someone pays with credit card and charges back it just means it wont beable to come from your checking inless you write the check.

I'm on eBay to SELL...I take ANY form of payment!! Yes I still have PayPal, but I don't push it anymore...its just one of the other many forms of payment that I take.

I just don't understand all this whinning about poor sales in one breath then in the next breath on another thread they state they ONLY take this or that for payment...or...I DO NOT ACCEPT....Geesh...What to do...What to do?

I had 19 auction close tonight, they ALL exceded my expectations.

I start all at a dollar with NO RESERVE...and I let the bidding begin. That is how you get the bidding wars.
Total of 37 item were on tonight with a total of 240 BIDS so far.
I must be doing something right.

My point is "sellers" S--T or get off the pot!

Sorry if I sound a little disgruntled but I read these boards daily. And I read alot of whinning from some of you.

I come here because I also read a lot of positive from many of you. And those are the ones I have learned from! Thank you!

Ok...done ranting...

One suggestion is to change your email address with PayPal to one you don't use for eBay. Then remove the one you do use for eBay. That way you still have an account, but the buyers can't just send it to you. That's what I did and it worked just fine...

Bottom line: Happyday21 doesn't take paypal. This puts the buyer at fault for not obeying the seller's terms of sale. If they didn't like the terms they could have bid on someones auction that takes paypal.

I would definately neg them and if they decided to defame me by posting all over the web about my "insanity", I would let my attorney handle them. He has been frothing at the mouth to get an internet related case.

happyday -
Get an email account at a free web-based email place and make it the ONLY one on the PayPal account (make it an unguessible one too).

REMOVE your ebay contact email address from the paypal account. If they send PP, you will get the notice, but no money will land in your account, and you can tell the sender to retrieve it and send you a check or money order.

grumpyebayer,

Bottom line: Happyday21 has a Paypal account, therefore he accepts Paypal. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

If Happyday21 did not have a Paypal account, then it would be reasonable, BUT HE DOES !!

Cix:

My partner has a Paypal account. She doesn't accept paypal. PLAIN and SIMPLE. She uses it to buy on ebay from sellers that accept it and don't have merchant accounts. There is nothing anywhere that says she must use her paypal account to accept payments. The same goes for HappDay21.

I have several checking accounts. I do not accept checks. PLAIN and SIMPLE. Having a checking account does not mean I accept checks.

I also have a garbage can. That doesn't mean I will let someone else put trash in it.

OK I like the idea of changing my email address with pay pal. Would you take billpoint if you did not accept it to those that want any from of payment? My ads read checks or money orders. I cant afford without raising my prices to ship the fees on pay pal. Besides the fact my account has been BROKEN with pay pal since the 9/12 changes. Do any of you wait 12 days for checks from Pay Pal. Then another 7 days to clear the bank. I have a great dislike of how pay pal is changing but, for arrogant bidders to send pay pal payment after you said no 4 times is rude to me.

mouseslayer THANKS YOU so much I like that idea alot. I have had payments from bidders with different email address, and wondered why, That seems like a perfect solution other then to close my broken pay pal account. I just keep hoping pay pal will FIX my account so I can do business with it again. AFter 60 days guess not.

I've been fed-up with paypal and quit offering as a payment option back in October. I had one buyer send payment (due to the fact I was unable to close the paypal account) I sent it back to him and politely explained that I no longer accepted paypal due to the fees (I sell low-end items). I offered him the other payment options (paydirect & exchangepath). There was no problem, he was unaware that paypal started charging and told me he planned on becoming a seller soon and would drop paypal as a seller tool. I have since changed my paypal email to an obscure one nobody knows and now no more problem, except they still won't let me close my account .
Personally I wouldn't give a Neg for that, But you should not have to accept PP payments if you don't want to, whether you still have an account with them or not.

kerrydaway here and there......

Had a customer pay with goats and chickens once which was fine and dandy til I found out eBay won't let you list livestock. Now I put in my listings "NO FARM ANIMALS ACCEPTED".

I can understand your frustration. If you don't take Pay Pal, you don't take Pay Pal, and frankly it really doesn't matter what your reasoning is. And it doesn't matter if you have 10 Pay Pal accounts. It's your auction and your terms. But, I think posting a neg. is a little over the top. Have you tried sending the money back and explaining (AGAIN) that you do not take Pay Pal? (I just got a TOS that stated twice (in CAPS) that they didn't take Pay Pal. I got the picture.) Then if you do not receive an accepted form of payment, a neg. would be in order.

A neg may be a bit harsh for this annoyance. How about a blistering neutral

I just do a little cut and paste response.

>I am sorry but I have closed my Paypal account. I can take payment with a cc via paydirect, or exchangepath - otherwise a personal check or money order.>>

End of problem.
It is the buyer's bother to cancel the paypal payment and then send one via Paydirect or pop a check in the mail.

There own time wasted is what is most likely to motivate them to knock it off. It is working, I only have to refuse a couple of payments a week, it used to be about 10 per.

Glad happyday21 seems to have found a answer that he likes to solve this problem that will work for him.

I have no problem with sellers no takeing paypal at all but to neg someone for trying isnt the best practice.

I would not only recomend changeing your paypal email address but also changeing your ebay address this way anyone getting EOA from you sending payment to paypal has no chance of sending no money to your open paypal account what so ever then have paypals mail blocked on your regular mail and no more paypal email at all.

face it what you dont get cant bug you also might want to fallow your EOAs with bill point invoices to sorta give all a hint
