ACCKKK! I just found an item I want and it has a "buy it now" price. Tried to "buy it now" but my credit card verification failed! TWICE! on 2 different cards! What the bleep? I've used both of these cards to PAY EBAY with before.

I tried my first "buy it now" earlier today -- and went through the credit card process (which did give the impression of a payment). Never got the EOA email, so I went back to check and it looks like my bid was never applied.

well, I think I figured out what my problem is. My first credit card is over its credit limit by $1.75. My second credit card I made a payment on day before yesterday but the payment hasn't yet been credited to my account, so it is showing that it's slightly over the limit also.
At least that is the only reason I can think of. It is so stupid because they are only using the credit card for ID purposes, not to actually use for payment! By the time my payments have been credited I'm sure someone else will have snapped up this item- it is really a steal!
